11  Tapestry Crochet wip in Crochet: Completed Projects by AndreaDeniell on: December 10, 2008 07:26:30 AM
Yeah , not completed yet, but i'm really excited about it!!

I found instructions on www.tapestrycrochet.com

it's going to be a gift for my brother, though i'm not sure what to make it into. I may end up making another one and incorporate it into a hat... any suggestions?

12  Re: little big planet ~ sack boy swap!!! in New Swap Theme Ideas by AndreaDeniell on: November 01, 2008 06:24:01 AM
My brother is the video gamer in the family and so my mom decided to make him a Sack Boy. Just though i'd share it as inspiration. This one is crocheted. I think I might have to check out my bros game though it sounds pretty nifty!!

13  Autumn Napkin Rings in Needlework: Completed Projects by AndreaDeniell on: October 23, 2008 11:04:14 AM
For some reason I got it in my head to make napkin rings today. I do also suffer from CADD (crafting annention defecit disorder, which for me means that i tend to make random things, and have learned to keep them small or they'll NEVER get done... Trust me, i've got at least two un-finished baby blankets somewhere in my home)

So just regular cloth napkin rings wouldn't be enough, i had to add a fall theme. THeir supposed to be a gift... but i like them so much I don't want to part with them... i guess i Could just make more...

the backs are hand stitched b/c i broke my machine needle trying to sew the first one, so it thought i'd just make it pretty-er if i hand stitched through that many layers of thick denim... next time i'll be using the machine...

16  I made a Manequin/Display!! and you can too!! Fixed Images! in Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs by AndreaDeniell on: October 01, 2008 10:06:51 AM
I had my son lay down on a piece of cardboard to trace him. which was quite difficult considering he's extremely ticklish. Then I tried to straighten up the lines and amke it symmetrical, my dad cut out the shape in a piece of plywood for me, b/c i have no saw, or plywood for that matter!

I sanded the edges, cut out some foam, and fabric like so...

TaDaa!! Once I got the hang of the electric stapler it wasn't too hard. (but be careful if using an electric stapler, their the crafty equivalent of a machine gun... Seriously!! make sure kids can't reach it if you turn your back!)

The blue one is Jersey Knit fabric which was much easier to stretch around the corners and staple down, but I suppose that depends on your level of expertise at upholstering.
