21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Owl themed swap gallery! on: October 04, 2008 05:00:05 PM
Thanks everyone for the sympathetic thoughts!  How nice of everyone!  I took the brother kitty (of the two sisters that passed) to the vet today.  He is healthy and all up to date on shots now.  And our two older cats are fine, so we don't know what happened.  Having pets is hard, but I will never give them up!   Cheesy  We  have an old yellow lab-12 1/2 years old, and we are getting a new puppy in a couple weeks!

It's been a little while since we've seen some pics so I'm going to go ahead and post what I sent to fairybug. She can add more if she likes!

I had such a blast crafting for fairybug in this swap! I'm glad she enjoyed it!
csi_princess-Thanks for posting.  This is the 1st chance I have logged on to Craftster in days!!  I have had a week from hell, including 2 of my baby kitties passing away Embarrassed, and on top of that my camera cord in MIA.  My swap package was fantastic.  My little son has nabbed the mommy and baby owl to sleep with every night, and my older son has claimed a key chain.  They both thought the package was great!  I really like the sewing wallet, it will really come in handy with my traveling sewing bag.  Thank you csi_princess, and I am so sorry I did not post pics yet.  As soon as the cord id located, i will post them.

Somehow or other, I thought the shipping deadline was 9/26 until a few days ago when I noticed the date in the topic.  As a result I was late in completing and sending out my package.  I managed to send it out this afternoon.
I received my package from "jonesodadrinker" the other day.  And what a package it was.  There was a set of stenciled note cards and a little scrapbook/journal and the cover was the same as the note cards.  There also was a framed embroidered owl (which will go up in my den) and a cute cross stitch bookmark.  I also received a very nice painted paper mache box with a decoupage owl, which I just love and the piece de resistance...owls painted on a set of Matryoshka dolls.  Unfortunately, one of the dolls is stuck.  I guess it may have been a little damp when it was closed up.  Does anyone know how I can get it unstuck?
I will be posting picture of these owl-ly goodies in a couple of days.
What if you put the stuck dolls in the sun/a sunny window-would that remove the moisture without damaging them?  Or, you may have to just gently turn and pull, and fix the damages?

Anyways, that black/purple tote bag with the button flower is beautiful!  That is sure to make people jealous!

These are so beautiful!  And what a great way to recycle those chunky plastic bracelets form the 80's!
27  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Antique button and felt flowers on: September 13, 2008 09:44:46 AM
I have tons and tons of buttons.  Most are from my mom collecting them through the years.  I started making these little flowers, as to showcase some of the cooler buttons.  And turns out, it's a somewhat addictive little craft.  Each flower is different, and you can mix and match any color felt or button you want.  They are held together with green wire.  I am thinking about making a wreath for my mom out of them.  We will see if I can get enough done...

29  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Top for my little girl - opinions needed! on: September 08, 2008 07:49:46 AM
The image is able to be identified immediately, so I think you did a great job!  I etched that NBC image onto a glass vase once for my sister-What a pain with an exacto knife!
