11  Re: Earring Swap 2008 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by fairybug22 on: March 24, 2008 05:56:12 PM
THANK YOU Ckchan!  I received my earrings today and I am delighted.  My partner did an incredible job-I hope that she is as happy as I am.  Please bare with my picture taking, I am still perfecting close-ups and focusing with my new camera.  My favorite ones are the little purple flowers, but I really do love them all.  The slices of cake and cupcakes are awesome.

12  St. Patrick's Day pillows, green shamrocks in Quilting: Completed Projects by fairybug22 on: March 17, 2008 08:46:24 AM
I made these pillows for my sister 7 years ago, thought it appropriate to finally get pictures of them today.  They were actually her maid of honor gift from my wedding.  Anyways, each pillow is created from 1 1/2 inch squares-120 squares total for each pillow. The first picture is a group shot of the four pillows and the next two are close-ups of just two of them. They took forever, but I love how they came out.

13  Happy St. Patrick's Day- leprechaun cake in Dessert by fairybug22 on: March 15, 2008 12:15:24 PM

I just finished this cake for a party we are going to this evening.  The whole cake is decorated with buttercream icing, except for the leprechauns.  The leprechauns are made out of fondant and the rainbow is made out of edible rice paper.  I colored on the rice paper with edible markers.  I basket weaved  the outside just to make it look fancier  Grin.  Enjoy, and comments always welcomed.

14  loved the original hexapus! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by fairybug22 on: March 12, 2008 04:38:33 PM
Last Friday, my friend and I spent the day making our own hexapus.  We saw the hexapus that enakitty had made and we loved it!  Please take this as the finest form of flattery enakitty Smiley  I also spent a snowed in weekend making four more.  There is one more hexapus not in the picture, but I am having trouble uploading the picture.  These are fun to make, but they do test your sewing patience when you are sewing the legs, and trying to get all the seams at once.  Enjoy!

15  Bringing nature inside, even though we already live in the woods in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by fairybug22 on: February 28, 2008 03:40:52 PM
We bought a house this year and this is what I did to my youngest sons wall and floor.  Our house was built in the mid 1800s.  His room used to be part of the attic but the previous owners turned it into a bedroom 30+ years ago.  Anyways, I ripped up very nasty mustard yellow carpet, sanded the wood floor and painted it his favorite color.  I would have like to refinish the wood floor, but they are in shabby shape.  His walls are all sloped and that white rectangle is his sky light.  I painted while sitting on a very short stool.  Enjoy, my son definately has! 16  Two of my first bags I have ever made in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by fairybug22 on: February 27, 2008 01:49:46 PM
I bought this material 6 years ago and after lurking on Craftster for a couple weeks, finally started sewing.  Both these bags are reversible with the opposite patterns on the inside and outside.  I gave the longer one away as a birthday gift.  It is being used as a library book bag.  I didn't use a pattern for either, just cut and sewn.  The striped bag now has two ties with beads on the ends for a closure, and the circle bag has a funky face button as a closure.  I forgot to take pictures after I added the closures. Constructive criticism always welcome Grin

17  Batik sack bag-very deep in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by fairybug22 on: February 27, 2008 01:42:07 PM
This bag was made for my friend who specifically wanted many colors and a very deep bag.  It is reversible, and has 3 pockets on the inside.  She loves it!  What do you think?  One picture has the handle and one does not, thought the colors were better in the picture without the handle.

18  My hand sewn flower purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by fairybug22 on: February 27, 2008 01:21:33 PM

So, I started sewing and creating purses/handbags to beat the winter blues.  It gives me something to do besides clean the house, do the laundry, etc., and all that other good stuff that goes along with having a family and house to take care of!  I have completed 7 different purses so far, all different and no patterns used.  I am trial and erroring Smiley all the bags to see what I like the best.

19  My New years resolution- fairy cake in CHALLENGE 24 ENTRIES by fairybug22 on: February 03, 2008 03:06:29 PM
My New Years resolution is to finally start a baking/cake business out of my home.  I am currently unhappy in my present endeavors and have decided to pursue my passion for cake decorating.  This is a recent cake I did from fondant and piped buttercream.  It was the birthday cake for a 4 year old birthday party.  The little people are fairies, but I didn't get a good picture to show off the little wings. Smiley
