1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Craft For My Kid Swap- Round 2?? on: August 07, 2008 09:30:47 PM
I have done several swaps for myself and love, love, love getting those packages in the mail.  It's so exciting!  Cheesy

My kids would love, very much, to have some boxes come for them too.  So I was thinking that maybe we could do another swap for the kiddos?

Would any of you all be interested in joining this type of swap?

With the school year starting soon for most of our kids, maybe we could start after the kids get into school?  When life isn't as crazy and hectic.

Anyone?  Smiley
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Bookmark and matching earrings on: July 02, 2008 01:13:12 PM
I made this for a swap partner of mine.  She loves dragonflies and I found these cute little trinkets.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Pretty flower tote on: July 02, 2008 01:04:04 PM
I made this for a swap partner.  She wanted a tote and I had to choose one of her chosen themes and I chose flowers.  I found the fabric in a box, not even knowing I owned it.  LOL  I used the blue trim to add a little something to it.  I am happy with how it came out.  What do you think???  Cheesy

That big pocket is also on the other side.

And this is the inside.....I threw in a couple of small pockets for holding odds and ends.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Hand-beaded felt purse on: July 02, 2008 12:53:40 PM
I made this for a swap recently.  I hand-beaded all of the leaves and berries.  I love how it came out.  Cheesy  I always make great stuff FOR OTHER PEOPLE!!   LOL  I never end up with the great things I make.  heh  Cheesy

What do you think??  Cheesy
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Bird t-shirt.... hand painted graphic on: July 02, 2008 12:36:47 PM
I made this for a swap.  I found the graphic through a google search.  I was looking for bird silhouettes and came upon this one.  I fell IN LOVE with it.  I saved the picture and printed it up.  Then I bought transfer paper for fabric and used it to trace the pattern onto the tee.  Then I filled in the pattern with fabric paint- like a coloring book page.  Cheesy

Here is the graphic:

Here is the final outcome:

I sprinkled glitter over the whole graphic when I was done so it sparkles a bit.  I added the end of the tail of the bird and some falling leaves.  The falling leaves actually cover up a dripped bit of paint.  I'm messy.  LOL

6  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Mosaic- Glass Tiled Box on: June 30, 2008 12:19:30 AM
I made this for a swap partner of mine back in May. The box opens on a hinge.  I was making this for a color-themed item and her color was blue.  I love how it turned out.  It's simple but I thought it was pretty.

What do you think??
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Wire-Wrapped Gemstone bracelets on: June 30, 2008 12:08:24 AM
I made these in May for a swap partner.  She gets to enjoy them now.  I actually have to use her photos because I forgot to take some of my own.  Cheesy

I love these.  I want some for myself.  LOL  They are so, so easy to make and are so beautiful.

Whatcha' think?  Cheesy

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Pretty, Pretty Polka Dots!! :o) on: June 29, 2008 11:18:40 PM
I made these dresses for my girls this month.  I made them all in 2 days' time.  I don't recommend that.  LOL

This is the good pose!  Here are a few that, um, aren't as good....   ?  LOL

Here are the outtakes:

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Formal Dress ~~IMG HEAVY~~ on: March 03, 2008 09:33:12 PM
So, I'm making formal dresses for my girls for an upcoming event later in the month.  I've posted pics of the first one I made and I'm nearly done w/ the second one now.  Done enough to take pics and post them anyway.  Cheesy  I need to put the zipper in but I can't do that until I finish the petticoat.  I was short on fabric for the petticoat slip so I could not finish it.  I can't put the zipper in until the petticoat is sewn in so.....I'm at an impasse right now.  I need to run to Joann's again.

But, I took pics anyway and would like to share.  I think it turned out nice.  There are a few things that bug me but I think that's normal for anyone who sews.

My daughter, Elaina, and her 'twirly' dress:

"Let me see you twirl!!!":

Without the jacket:

"Twirl again!!":

Okay, that's it.  Sorry about the quality of the pics.  I will get better ones one of these days.  I noticed that I need to hem the inner skirt some more, it really shows the difference in length when she twirls.  It'll be lots more poofy when I get the petticoat done.

So, what do you think??   You like?  Smiley
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Sewing for older boys? on: February 21, 2008 11:45:06 AM
I have 4 kids.  My oldest is my only son.  He's 12 now.  Having 3 girls means I have tons and tons and endless amounts of sewing I can do for them.  But I feel like my son is left out.  I've seen adorable outfits made for little boys, toddlers and pre-k boys.  But not for middle-school aged boys.  Can anyone give me any idea of what I could make for him that would embarrass him to death?  The only thing I can think of is pj pants.   I hate that he is left out but I am stumped.....
