11  A new sofa blanket for Hubby! in Quilting: Completed Projects by Cealy on: December 27, 2010 01:21:12 PM
My daughter and I spotted this fabric and instantly knew what I was going to do with it. He loves to play pirate games on the internet so this will keep him cozy while he plays!

It really isn't a quilt because it isn't quilted, it isn't sewn so if this isn't the spot for this post-so be it!

This is taken on my kitchen table so it's folded up but will fit a twin bed!

12  Sock Monkey Hats in Crochet: Completed Projects by Cealy on: December 25, 2010 06:50:41 AM
Here is a picture of two hats I made my Niece and Nephew. I adapted a picture of a hat I saw on Etsy and made my own pattern out of it.

My nephew's hat has a snap strap under his chin and my niece's has the typical braids.

C&C's welcome!

13  Re: Canadian Envelope Swap Winter Edition! Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Cealy on: December 21, 2010 04:38:07 AM
The envelope I sent was just that, an envelope that met the requirements (I went with the inside measurements because it was a bubble envelope!)

I told the chickypoo at the desk to squish it, it was squishable lol, but she wouldn't so therefore I had to pay small parcel shipping. No biggie, by partner had to too I see! lol

And here it is, my parcel! Yahhhhhh!!!

Thank you so much mxer145 I love everything!
The sketch she drew of the frog has to be my favourite! I got a handmade Christmas card which sparked my daughter's interest for next year's cards. Two felt flower pins my daughter tried to scoop! Cool buttons, great beads, embellishment leaves, tiny sea shells, and Christmas stockings, iron on seam binding, paint brushes, a cool green pencil, an old victorian style Santa orniment, embroidery floss, and a book mark from a gallery in her home town which I think we will be making a road trip to in the spring! woot woot!
Merry Christmas and Season's Greetings to all!

15  XBox cake in Dessert by Cealy on: November 11, 2010 03:23:23 PM
Here is a cake I made recently for a friend's son, as you can see he turned 8! I made the game look like the Halo game using his name and age instead. I painted the cover with paste colouring diluted with water.
C&C welcome!

16  Re: Canadian small envelope swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Cealy on: October 28, 2010 06:34:29 PM
Thanks soooooo much for my envelope!!!
Where to start?

I love the macrame bracelette, very cool! You made it? Just so happens Im wearing green tomorrow-and the bracelette now!
I can't wait to make the pendant into a necklace, just have to decide if it will be with ribbon or cording, maybe velvet?
I got 5 colours of roving for hair for my OOAK fairies hair!!! Happy Dance!!!
The buttons are great, I love that they are all different but the same colours! I have a cotton fabric that is blue/green/white that I have to now make something to use them because they would be perfect with them!
So cool, a green crochet hook!!! Can never have too many crochet hooks, cause when you need a certain size you can never find it! lol The patterns are great, easy enough for me to knit and very stylish!
The art cards, AWESOME!! I have black frames for poster cards that they will look great in, my favourite is the mermaid!
I will have to figure out what I am going to do with the hibiscus applique. LOL Like I need an excuse to make something! lol I love a challenge!
I'm not telling my daughter about the penguin ornament, if she sees it she will claim it! Not going to happen this time!! lol He is adorable, did you make him?
Thanks soooo very much! You can be my craft buddy any time!

ps, when's the next swap Belladune!? lol

17  Wedding Cake for my Father in Law's wedding in Dessert by Cealy on: October 27, 2010 04:34:39 PM
My Father in Law got remarried last week and my daughter was kind enough to volunteer her services for a cake, only one problem, she worked almost every night after school and was quickly running out of time! Mom stepped in!
She was going to bake it, I was going to 'show' her how to decorate it. I did it all! lol
Two weeks of making fondant flowers, a few each night after dinner while watching tv. It's not perfect but it worked

c&c welcome!

18  Snowmen! in Winter Holidays by Cealy on: December 05, 2009 04:30:04 PM
I made these Snowmen for a craft bazaar that was hosted where I work.
Their bodies are made from recycled sweaters and their hats are dollar store socks.
I will be on the look out for odd socks that my daughter loses for next year's batch of Snowmen.

19  Re: The Dark Tower...Of Fun! in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by Cealy on: April 21, 2009 07:26:28 AM
Check out paint and building supply stores and see what they have for mis-tints.
Most cost effective way to go for kids projects.

I would look for the all in one stain and sealers.
As for the bottom, I would make sure hubby makes a cover for the sandbox. All kinds of animals will love 'playing' in there too!
I think our husbands came from the same genes! We never filled in the bottom but I always remember the kids complaining. Our 'fort' was built from weathered pressure treated wood used on my brothers wheel chair ramp that he didn't need anymore.

Great job!

20  Christmas presents for the nieces and nephews in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Cealy on: January 05, 2009 04:55:53 AM
Two granny gowns and two pairs of jammie bottoms. Doesn't my oldest niece look impressed! She loves horses so thats why it is made with horse flannel. The younger one has dragonflies in pastels, the wings glitter. The two boys liked their jammie bottoms but the youngest put them on saying, "where's the top?" Took a bit to explain there were only bottoms! Guess next year I have to supply the tops too! lol
