1  hmm.... Which one?? *Pics 4 deat.* in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by strawberrieshk on: August 09, 2008 12:45:49 AM
I want to make something similar to this:
https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=239676.msg2636051#msg2636051 & this (lol, soz for the wonky pic I'm tired as 1-2-3!!!!):

For when I go back to school but a little shorter..... I really like the shirt underneath idea (i'm talking about on the first page, not the third page) but I just can't figure out what type of skirt to attach (so it'll be a mini dress). I'm probably going to wear some jeans or leggings under it...
So far I've come up w/ a tulle skirt (not too sure about this one, seems to "dress-up" to me) or a short circle skirt. I really want it to be casual and I am FREAKING OUT because I have to get this done by like 3pm (it's 3:45 am right now...yikes!)

What type of skirt should I make? (Pics if possible, please)
The tube-ish part is going to be baroque satin in this color: http://www.joann.com/joann/shop/shop_tszoom.jsp?path= ...Tell me if you think one of these colors look better if you think so (or if I should use a different fabric...I'm open to ANY suggestions): http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2964&PRODID=prd7205#select ....

2  Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along in Craftalongs by strawberrieshk on: April 11, 2008 11:28:12 AM
hey y'all, sorry i haven't posted here in a while!!

i have been kinda busy (i know that's no excuse and again i apologize!)

           I have a quick ?:
I'm making a poppet, and I have all the body parts dyed and ready to attach. Well, I made the body, legs, and arms out of a tea-dyed t-shirt and i used the shirt up and i don't have any more extra tees... I just bought some brown fabric and I was wondering..... How could I make this look right? I don't know what "theme" she's going to be but could I incorporate this into why her skin resembels this?: and her head resembles this: http://www.joann.com/joann/shop/shop_tszoom.jsp?path=
EDIT:**I know the 1st isnt a good pic, but it's pretty much the color of a Porcelain Ivory- toned person while the head is more of a Cocoa- toned person....**

3  Oh No! Not Another Newbie Question!!! **edited** in Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions by strawberrieshk on: March 21, 2008 07:47:58 AM
Ok, so today I'm going to Michaels to pick up some Sculpey...or some other [polymer] clay ... Well, I have never worked w/ Polymer clay before so I have to quick questions:
-What type of clay is easy to work with & air drys???
-If I can't find any air dry clay, is it safe to bake it in my oven? How would I go along doing that???

You don't really have to answer both my questions, it's just that I need to answer #1 really quick because I need to get started on my project!

**In case you're wondering, my project is making something like this:

**sorry 4 the huuuuge pic, i havent quite found out how to resize images.....**

Excuse my slowness, I mean an air dry clay... I just found out polymer clay doesn't air dry....sorry!
Oh yeah, please don't recommend Crayola Air Dry Clay because that stuff is a pain to work with! thanks!

4  I did it!! I made a doll!!! *A little Pic heavy* in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by strawberrieshk on: February 08, 2008 12:34:24 PM
Well, ok, I know it's not those perfect little poppets and those other really cool dolls but, I made a sock doll!! I hand made it (i haven't quite yet mastered using a sewing machine by myself  Tongue) and it took me all of about 2 hours to complete... Her clothes and purse I made out of scraps of an old shirt and the hat was made out of leftover material...
lol, I've never sewn anything except a few pillows and covers so I'm not really good yet but hey, I think I did exceptional!! What do you guys think?Huh

Notice the button....haha, that's there because I thought all those strings hanging out looked tacky... Undecided

My laziness is the blame for her arms being so short...I was too lazy to retrace the arms so i hope my laziness won't cause her to be ridiculed for the rest of her life!!  Embarrassed

The yellow shirt she's sporting is actually a dress I folded up to look like a shirt since I made her a skirt out of an old pair of pants, I just HAD to put it on her!!

So.... what do ya think??? Am I the only one who thinks she looks a bit skater-girlish?? Do think I should give her a face??
Andddd, Since this is my first doll and my first Craft post on Craftster, I want you, the Craftster Community, to name this sassy sock!
Oh ya, I got the link from here:
yeah, my doll doesn't look anything like this and doesn't have any shoes.... Roll Eyes Cheesy
