21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Need help taking in bodice asap..pretty please! on: May 18, 2010 08:36:41 PM
I am making this for my daughter ( the one with the corset, I have the dress put together and the zipper basted in, but the sizing was AWFUL and the bodice is huge.  Can anyone tell me the best way to take it without taking everything apart?  The dance is Friday and she will won't be around much the next two days so I need to get this done and fitted ASAP....HELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP! Shocked

Thanks a bunch!

I love it!  What did you use for the reverse applique as a stabilizer (if any)?  I want to try that technique.

Thanks! I didn't use a stabalizer.  I just went slow and hoped the best and really didn't have any problems.  I did make sure I used a ball point needle, though. Smiley

Thanks ladies! My oldest daughter always gives me heck when I "just wing it" and it ends up NOT getting worn bc it's THAT bad.  LOL, I feel kinda vindicated with this one.  Cheesy

How absolutely sweet!  Did you make the pattern up or was that a pattern?  They are really just adorable!

The Mickey material was a $2 2nd hand bed sheet .  The lace was given to me and the shirt was .25 at a g sale.  It was my first time with pleating.  I altered the boys undershirt with taking in the sides, gathered shoulders, lace at the bottom and reverse applique. The girls like it and I am kinda proud of how it turned out and I have lots of material left to make something for my other little ones.   Grin

I haven't been sewing in awhile and got the itch.  I found this skirt at Goodwill for a few bucks.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  I was rather lazy and didn't want to hem, though, so it is too long, but I still like it.  I was trying to save the zipper in back.  I also moved the flower to the left more so it wasn't so in the middle/in your face.  I think it looks much better that way.

pick ups

too long, I know

Thanks for looking!

That is just too cute.  I really love the neck line and the hat for sure is the best!
