11  Re: 12 Days of Christmas 2009 GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by madmommymia on: December 14, 2009 02:04:21 PM
First off, I wanted to say I love you SarahJ2001, Everything so far is awesome and I can't imagine how it can get better.  I hope you like the stuff I made as much I love what you did.  Major swap anxiety.  Anyway, because life has been hell lately, super unexpected family problems and the like and since we are leaving for Chicago 2 days before Christmas and didn't want to lug extra stuff, my super rule abiding hubby let me start opening 2 days early, so I am a bit ahead.  Really as depressed as I have been, these packages are a few of the only things getting me through.

Here is Isaac with all the presents.  He has spent A LOT of time shaking and throwing and opening them.  They have quite a few pieces of scotch tape on the paper right now.

On the 12th day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me:  Lots and lots of cookies, snickerdoodles, which we did open early.  My little mister Isaac really enjoyed them.

On the 11th day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me:  FELT FOOD DAY!  A felt lunch bag full of corn, banana, orange slices, sandwich makings, chips and a chip bag (they even have ridges!) and 2 carrots.  Isaac tried to eat them so I put them up until he is out of this oral stage;)

On the 10th day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me: KITCHEN DAY! 5 crocheted scrubbies, 5 reusable swiffer pads, which made me so excited I was going to swiffer everything, but then realized I am out of solution and need to go to the store, and 2 dog placemats!

On the 9th day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me: FAMILY DAY!  2 crochet balls that Isaac hasn't stopped throwing.  He just yells Ball Ball BALL!!!  2 squeaky toys for the dogs which they LOVE and haven't broken yet.  Isaac also likes it, although I keep telling him it isn't his. A animaguri bird mobile which is AWESOME.  It wasn't on my wist, but is so me it isn't even funny. 4 stenciled shirts for Isaac (broccoli which he has on today, tractor, paw prints, and a tie), An animaguri Tux the Linux opensource software penguin for my hubby (He now resides next to the keyboard) and a "Men can be vegetarian" stenciled shirt for my hubby.  He is and I am not which always leads to a bunch of confusion at restaurants when I order steak and he gets a salad.

On the 8th day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me: CRAFTY DAY!  a thread catcher for my sewing table which I think my hubby is most excited about.  He is always complaining about thread and scrap everywhere.  A door draft stopper which was needed, a "Scrapbooking is a work of heart" hoodie which I have on now, a car craft caddy from my wist (it hangs down from the window for traveling crafting). and 4 fat quarters!  I really do appreciate everything Sarah, life has been really tough lately.

On the 7th day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me: Hat Day!
3 hats for little mister and 4 for me.  I am so excited, I have been wearing them even around the house!

On the 6th day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me: Shirt Day!
I love them love them love them.  They are all screenprinted tees exactly from my wist:
Domestic Goddess
My secret ingredient is love
Stop Wars in Star Wars font style
"Crafty girl" with a sewing machine on it

On the 5th day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me: Miscellaneous Day
a screenprinted Lincoln tote-I love the man, he is awesome!
3 fabric bowls which her hubby sewed and rocked at, I might add
a red riding hood cape which I am super excited about wearing and Isaac thinks is hilarious.

On the 4th day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me: Craft kit Day
a soap making kit and a candle making kit with some soaps and candles to accompany!

On the 3rd day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me: Apron Day!
I am not modeling these because they were a bit on the big side, which is good for my ego and gives me a new project to work on next month- I just have to take them in a bit.  I love the fabric choices though!

On the 2nd day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me:Gym Bath Day!
A hooded towel and towel tote holder for the gym right off my wist.  I also got some wonderful homemade soaps which I can't wait to use!

On the 1st day of Christmas, Swapping brought to me: A painted hard suitcase which I am super excited about and is inspiring me to update some of my luggage in red and light blue.  Sarah also made me a pizza blanket which is so cool.  We took it with us for Christmas vacation and when I was looking for it to take home my brother responded with, "Wait that wasn't a present for us?"  Guess what he is getting for his birthday in February;)?

I really have to say THANK YOU!  I am sorry I was a little late getting pics up, we just barely got home after visiting relatives for a week and a half.  I love everything and am so excited.  You made this a great experience SarahJ2001 and I truly believe I got the most amazing partner.  You can look for a little thank you present in the mail sometime next month;)

12  Re: 100 Facts Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by madmommymia on: November 23, 2009 12:49:40 PM
Finally!  The craft stars have aligned and after being flaked on and then flaked on by my angel.  Anyway, I had a great angel who made my day.
First up, an apron so I can pretend to be Cinderella while I scrub floors.  I actually like cleaning and often scrub floors pretending to be Cinderella.  I also always wear aprons in the kitchen.
Next, we have my favorite I think, a cloche hat, which I love.  It reminds me of old classic movies, and I love how it makes me feel so feminine and classy.  It is super close to one on my wist.  I love hats!

Then comes some fabric roses, off my wist.  Roses remind me of my mom, who I love and I love flowers everywhere but it makes me sad when they die.  I put the roses in my empty bottle of "Mommy's Day Out" wine that I got from my Mom for mother's day.  It is right next to my bed and has made me smile ever since they arrived.

Finally, some yarn to work on my knitting.

It was a great day and wonderful package!

Here are the pics, Sorry I am so late getting them up.  I was out of town at a family funeral.  Anyway, as crappy as these few weeks has been, getting my package from Bioform Callie did cheer me up.   Especially since cleaning is one of the things I do to relieve emotional stress.
Here we have crocheted dish scrubbies and reusable swiffer cover as well as some placemats. We are very eco-conscious at our house so I have been wanting these for a while. I had them wisted.

And here is my favorite, a crocheted nativity for my little mister Isaac to play with (he's one)  He has already started. It is interesting as a mom to yell, "Don't kick baby Jesus down the hall."

Anyway, thank you so much for making this a great swap BioformCallie.  Life has been sucky lately and I needed this distraction.

Package 1
First up the package when I opened it!

Now some ribbons, a new crafting supply obsession of lukenlarry's

Now for an embroidered card she did,

it included this paper butterfly, that even with the warning, scared me out of my wits,

Then something from her favorite store, the dollar store, light up necklaces,

Then some ornaments like ones she had when she were little, Christmas is her favorite holiday,

Now a ring, lukenlarry has loved this particular type of jewelry since she was little,  it is funny, I used to have a ring like this when I was in high school!

Mary Kay satin hands and a bath bomb, because she likes relaxing baths-a hobby we share

And she collects quarters, so this is a page from her collection book

Finally something sentimental, a castle she and her boys painted for me.  She likes crafting with her kids and had a hard time letting this one go, I think I have some special future plans so lukenlarry might see her love grow even more,

Package 2

This package was full of fun and practicality, my 2 favorite adjectives when making a craft.  I especially love the purse organizer so I can keep stuff in that and switch purses as opposed to trying to remember everything.  I also really loved the scented trivet which smells like cinnamon spices when it gets warm.  I love the smell of food.  Also included was some fabric, Miss Piggy bookplates, ribbon, yarn and some chocolate bath salts/bombs which are already half gone now. She was nice enough to include recipes so I can make my own when the time comes.

Package 3

Here are the first 2 pages of a felt embroidered name book she made for my son.  I had one on my wist and had been meaning to do it forever.  Isaac loves his book and it came in a very timely manner; he has been obsessed with wanting me to spell and say his name with the wood letters I painted for him by his bed after naptime.  The book adds some variety, so thank you.

And now for the ultimate, I have no idea how long this must have taken.  She wove this herself.  I am using it as a camera bag which I am sure my hubby appreciates.  He says I am too rough on things and need to be more careful, so here she be, my new camera case!

Thanks so much for my packages and I think the little extra surprise I have for you might come along closer to Christmas....This was such a fun swap, it is so neat to see how different everyone's packages are.

15  Re: Jim Henson Swap round ??? Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by madmommymia on: June 04, 2009 05:37:41 PM
And now for what I made, sent, and have had taken from the post office...  I hope they retrieve everything and get it to you rockmygypsysoul, but I wanted to show you I took some care and love into your package for you.  If it ever gets there, here is what to expect...
I went with a "Movin' Right Along" theme since she really enjoyed the scene with the car in The Muppet Movie.  I used the images from the song "Can you picture that?" while I picked materials.
First up a car organizer:

Next reusable snackbags with sketches on them:

Then a coupon file for the car:

Then a rollup organizer to carry your sharpies in:

A car litter bag

A notepad holder with a kermit notebook

And an atlas with a Henson Kermit picture on it, I decoupaged a Road Atlas

I wish they wouldn't have lost it, I hope they find it, and I hope your angel package is great because you were a fun partner to have in our trilogy!

All right so I am home from being out of town and I am ready to post a zillion things.  First up my awesome package I received from kwality...
My box upon arrival!  On the top is a cute frame with Muppet monsters on it!

A fabric bowl, like the one of my wist, and it has a pin that has Animal pinned to it!

A pillow with Grover doing near and far, similar to an item on my wist.  Here is the front:

Here is the back:

And the thing that made my son lunge for me, a cookie monster apron:

I loved everything and was so excited, I have barely taken the apron off...

17  Re: Hooray for Craftster-wood: The Old Movies Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by madmommymia on: March 31, 2009 05:58:25 AM
All right, I am back from vacation and can now post pictures from dramatrauma's package.
First up, from It's a wonderful life, Clarence bookmarks.  (I love Clarence the angel so much, I named my first car after him).

Second, a magnet based off the song, "Favorite Things" from Sound of Music.  It is very clever really, and since there are a lot of favorite things, it will be able to hold a lot on the fridge!

Third, a duckie teething toy for my little one, Isaac (not crafted but still appreciated, everything goes in his mouth at this stage)

Finally, an apron based off Felix's restaurant in Christmas in Connecticut, sorry the picture is sideways.

This was a fun swap to do, and I must say Handsymalone, I am in love with all your hat work I saw while I was craftster stalking you on craftster.  I was wondering if you were going to make one for this swap.  You should open up shop and sell some of those hats.  I know I would be in line to get one!
And I want everyone in the swap to know, that I am now officially re-obsessed with Cary Grant and am making my husband watch pretty much all his movies;)

Here is most of the loot from my wonderful partner, the wonder woman shirt she found for me is in the wash because I had to wear it ASAP.  Hopefully I can get a shot this week.
First up, a great gym back with a water bottle holder (water bottle included) and even some pens.

And homemade soaps.  The first is a cupcake bath soap from my wist-so exciting and Office inspired stapler in jello soap-hilarious.

I was so excited to get everything and had so much fun on this swap.  Everyone is doing a great job in the gallery!  Go us.

19  Re: Valentines Embroided Tea towel .:. Send out 02/03 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by madmommymia on: January 26, 2009 06:56:22 PM
Here are the wonderful goodies I got from MindBoggld.  They are so great, I haven't even put the towel in the kitchen because I like to stare at it in the living room and absorb it's wonderfulness.  Anyway here they are, towel first.  I love animals, so she found an elephant couple and put my hubby and my initials and wedding date on it.

She also made me a needlebook which is super great, not the best pic, but O well.  It says Stitch from the Heart

Anyway, sorry it took so long to post my sister had a baby last week, and I feel like the world has been a whirlwind.  I am almost done with my second project, which actually I think is more work than my towel turned out being, but I am super excited about it.

20  Felt board in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by madmommymia on: January 07, 2009 12:47:05 PM

I got this idea from my best friend.  I took an old canvas and hot glued felt over the top.  My hubby then helped me cut out felt pieces, and put them in a plastic zip container (saved from a pillowcase set I bought).  The kids loved them and I can do booster packs in the future.
