Wow! I *love* that! It reminds of Galadriel, the elf-queen from the Lord of the Rings movie! I am a huge LOTR geek. It's gorgeous!

56  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Best way to attach a patch to jeans, iron-on or sew? on: October 07, 2004 04:44:47 PM
Hello!

I have a well worn and much loved pair of jeans that have developed a hole on the side of the butt! It was teeny, but now it's growing enough to show my skivvies, so I want to patch it up.

I ordered a cool Grateful Dead patch, and it came today. It's got a smooth plasticky backing, that I am guessing means it's iron on type of patch...but I wonder if that will hold very well on a part of the jeans that gets the most use (the part you sit on!) So, do you think I should iron it on, and then also sew around it? Or do you think just Ironing on will suffice?

Thanks in advance! (sorry if this is a dumb question, I've never patched anything before!

I like your PJ's but I *love* your hair! I have always wanted dreads, but my hair is baby fine, so I don't think it would ever work...plus, I'm all like OLD (25) and professional, and married now, so people (my husband...my employeer) would be less than thrilled. Sigh...I can dream...

I love the fuzzy weiner dog even more than the smooth one! Do you mind me asking where you got the furry felt?? I have never seen around here...I find felt much easier to work with than faux fur when you are doing something in a small scale, but it does lack that fuzzy quality. I'd buy a crap load of this stuff if I could find it!
60  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Can someone help me figure out how to fix the size of this shirt? on: October 01, 2004 09:11:43 AM
No, I don't have a serger, and I am not sure anyone I know does either...I can try the rolled hem thing...I just have never sewn curves before, so I wonder if it will bubble up you know?

Thanks for the tips!
