31  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / warning: out of season: pumpkin hat on: June 17, 2008 08:45:42 PM
A pumpkin hat I knitted last fall for my little punkin.  Knitted from a pattern of fruit hats in cotton/fleece.  It washed well and held its shape.  I liked it so well I knitted it in a couple of different sizes.

32  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / indiana on: June 17, 2008 08:34:35 PM
acrylics on large canvases (3x4) of my home state...this is what it looks like from a car window when you're traveling between chicago and indianapolis.  "indiana dawn" and "indiana overcast."  thanks for looking!

33  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / first quilt...for my niece on: June 17, 2008 08:30:22 PM
Finished this a while ago, but wanted to share as I'm finishing a second one for her, and will post that one soon, too.  My first quilt, with all the frustrations and pride that entails!  Thanks for looking!

34  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Painting for Nursery on: February 13, 2008 01:01:10 PM
I didn't want to spend $$ on artwork for my son's room and wanted to match his colors, so did this myself with acrylics on a pre-made canvas.  He was really into "the moon," too.

35  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Child's Tassel Hat on: February 11, 2008 02:09:01 PM
Knitted this super simple hat for my son in a really soft charcoal yarn to go with his red and gray parka.  Started on smaller needles for the seed stitch cuff, then increased slightly and went to bigger needles for the stockinette body.  Knitted in the round with the top sewn shut, and two tassels on small crocheted chains were added to each corner.

36  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Valentine Mobile - simple on: February 11, 2008 09:35:05 AM
Simple mobile made with paper hearts for Valentine's Day.  Used a ready-made mobile with clips and construction paper.  My son loved watching it spin!

37  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / child's "tibetan" peace flag on: February 10, 2008 09:49:44 PM
I improvised a "Tibetan" peace flag to match my son's nursery decor.  Flags were embroidered with simple motifs and words and strung on a cord.  The only sewing involved were the pockets to slip on the cord as I left the other edges raw.

38  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Child Camo Sweater on: February 10, 2008 08:27:44 PM
My constantly moving three year-old modeling the sweater I just made him from the Knitting Pure and Simple top-down pattern in Lorna's Laces (hence the blurry sleeves!).  I really enjoyed making this as it required no seaming...it is knit in one piece!

39  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / crib skirt how-to on: February 07, 2008 01:56:41 PM
Hi, I got some great fabric for my baby girl's nursery (Aviary collection by Joel Dewberry) and want to make a crib skirt.  I need to get cracking, but I'm afraid to start cutting.  I know I'm over-thinking it, but hey, I'm 9 months pregnant and half the time I can't remember my address.  Tongue  Any basic ideas for the skirt dimensions and pieces I need to cut?  I have muslin for the part under the mattress.  I also want to make some basket liners and any suggestions for those would be welcome, too.  Thanks!
40  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Pfaff bobbin problems??? on: January 31, 2008 01:57:40 PM
I have a Pfaff 2027 (Classic Quilt) less than a year old and I consistently have problems getting nice, tight bobbins wound.  I've had it serviced twice (because we moved and they suggested it had been jostled).  Anyone else having this issue?  Any tips?  I'm starting to be disappointed that I didn't jump up in terms of buying more ($$$) machine.  And maybe a different brand.  Thanks for any input/suggestions.
