1  Ohio / Ohio: Central / clothing donations/banks on: April 07, 2009 08:39:48 AM

I have been living in columbus for about 2.5 years and am an avid organizer.  I go through my apartment about every 3-4 months and donate stuff. I reorganize and donate things that I no longer use.  I am also an avid thrift store shopper and can say I am really getting fed up lately with the higher prices.  I am going to be donating some of my nicer clothes(things that did not come from a thrift store) and I really want people that need, to be able to purchase it or get it for free.

I am originally from seattle and I grew up quite poor.  When I was little we were allowed to go to a "clothing bank", like a food bank but for clothes.  I was allowed to pick out whatever I wanted and it was free.  You obviously had to meet an income requirement and the clothes, unfortunately, were not that cool.

Anyways, I am looking for a place like that here that I can donate directly to.  Huh  And/or a place that doesn't charge the less fortunate too much for nice clothes???

Thank you.
2  Ohio / Ohio: Central / Help, moving to columbus!!!!!! on: August 10, 2006 09:52:10 AM
Hi there i am a fellow craftster from the Seattle, washington area.  I am moving to Columbus, Ohio towards the end of October in about two months.  I am finishing my AA transfer degree this month and have been accepted to Columbus College of art and design with a scholarship.  I am transferring and am moving my boyfriend and cat with me(my family).

well here is some of the problems:  i have never been there so we are trying to locate some good areas to look for apartments?Huh?  We are 21 and 23 but we don't really like to be engulfed in university students(i have heard that Ohio u is close to ccad) and we would like to be kinda close to ccad(school).  We are looking for a two bedroom apt within the 500+- dollar a month range, we just want to be in a decent neighborhood(here we have had to live in some ghetto areas because of the high cost of living).  i am going to be looking at a map while reading your responses so i can try to understand where things are.  so we don't mind if we are around some university students we just don't want to be smack in the middle of them.  we will be living there for around three years.

Additional information: my boyfriend will either be working at one of the Columbus Comp usas or somewhere computer or car mechanic related.  I will be looking for a part time job too.

there is so much to think about.  we are getting together a rental truck and stuff like that. any information you guys have for me would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!  i am beyond stressed about trying to move cross country with little money and my family.  Again Thank you!!!
