1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Blue Sun Shirt on: October 26, 2004 04:16:39 PM
My boyfriend and I are Firefly fans, and he's been wanting a Blue Sun shirt like the one Jayne wears in. . . eep -- Ariel, I think.  I think there's a place on the internet that does iron-on transfer t-shirts with the logo, but I guess they're a bit shiny (Rob bought one, but I haven't seen it yet, so I'm not sure. . . ).  He wanted a blue shirt, so I whipped up a stencil and -- tada!

I bought some spray fabric paint at 80% off at a sale, and it was a bit tricky getting the hang of it.  Anyway, it's a nice, subtle image, and I we're all (me and Rob, that is)  happy about it.
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / More Things I've Made on: October 20, 2004 02:02:47 PM
Just finished this little guy this morning.  He's my first attempt at a jointed critter -- done just with floss, so nothing too fancy.  Still, I'm quite pleased.

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Doll for my mom on: October 04, 2004 07:58:09 AM
I posted about this in one of my other threads on the 'Completed Projects' board, but I suppose it actually belongs here.  I won't go into the whole story, as I wrote about it on my website, but I'm working on a cloth doll for my mom's Christmas present.  I'm moving to London in January, so this will be her 'Anna Doll' that she can hug when she misses me.

It's my first attempt at making a doll, doll clothes, etc, and I'm pretty excited to make a hundred mistakes and figure everything out.  My progress is being recorded here: http://www.twelve22.org/things/doll.html

Here's the doll so far:

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Wiener Dog on: September 28, 2004 05:35:15 PM
Hooray!  I've been itching to try the dog pattern on this page:

I finally got around to making my own version (my printer's been out of ink for ages), and I finished it today.  He was sewn completely by hand, so I'm glad I didn't try the full-size version.

I really like his shape; it turned out much better than I was expecting.

Hope you like him!
