1  Doll for my mom in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions by annafauna on: October 04, 2004 07:58:09 AM
I posted about this in one of my other threads on the 'Completed Projects' board, but I suppose it actually belongs here.  I won't go into the whole story, as I wrote about it on my website, but I'm working on a cloth doll for my mom's Christmas present.  I'm moving to London in January, so this will be her 'Anna Doll' that she can hug when she misses me.

It's my first attempt at making a doll, doll clothes, etc, and I'm pretty excited to make a hundred mistakes and figure everything out.  My progress is being recorded here: http://www.twelve22.org/things/doll.html

Here's the doll so far:

It's not *really* a pattern, but I drew up a quick sketch of the shapes.

I hope you can tell how things fit together.  The length from A to B on the body (following the outside of the curve) should be the same as the lenth from tip (A) to tip (B) on the side panel.  A larger version of that 'pattern' is available at http://www.twelve22.org/things/owlpattern.jpg

Good luck!

Here's my first go at the owl guys on the cover of those patterns.  Maybe there's something a bit more clever going on in the pattern, but I thought it the shape seemed pretty straight forward.  Too bad I didn't have the proper size beads for the pupils.

Tada.
