1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Beaded Moccasins on: August 26, 2010 09:48:25 AM
Haven't posted in a loooong time but thought I'd share these!  The butterfly moccasins were my first pair for my niece, the flower ones were for her mom.  They wore them at a few pow wows this year.  Beading takes forever!  I need more practice.

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Knight Birthday Party *PICS!* on: May 17, 2009 08:39:59 PM
Knights was this years theme!  Here are the pics.

Pinata we made

Cake.  I hate doing cakes because I suck but he loved it so that's all that matters.

Treasure chest for the kings treasure chest hunt

The kids were pretty excited when they opened it up.

The castle.  It was supposed to be more like a real castle but the wind ruined my plans and it turned out to be a long tunnel tied to the porch.

The girls made princess hats and there were crown crafts for the boys but there was no sitting them down for a craft after they had their swords and sheilds.  They played swords the entire time.

slaying the dragon.  The littlest girl in pink was scared of the pinata and wouldn't go near it till it was smashed!

The boys got knight filled goodybags and the girls got unicorn items in theirs.  I had other crafts and games planned but they just played swords in the castle which was fine by me!

Wow I haven't posted here in a loooong time!

My little sister and I made this for the 5 year olds birthday next weekend.  He chose a Knights theme!  It turned out bigger than I thought it would.  It's huge, over 5 feet long.  But the kids will be exited.

Here's ALL the party pics: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=305416.0

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Princess dresses on: August 26, 2008 01:09:37 AM
I've been wanting to learn how to make clothes for a long time.  Mostly for the kids.  I tried a few years ago and well, I don't allow myself near a sewing machine anymore.  I want to give it a try again...  My niece's 3rd birthday is coming up and I want to make something like this but I don't even know where to start.  I KNOW I could do it if I tried hard enough, and my grandmumzy is here to help me, but where would I get a pattern?  These dresses are BEAUTIFUL but I am just too cheap and I want to at least TRY to make one.

I made her guests dresses like these(totally easy & cheap).  I hope that the like them!  The theme is Cinderella dress up.

It is probably a crazy first project idea, maybe I could do a few practice rounds... I need the dress by October 19th.  Any tips would be sooo helpful.

5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Cinderella Centerpieces? on: July 11, 2008 09:17:36 PM
Does anyone have any idea how I could make a carriage or coach centerpiece for a Cinderella party?  The theme colors are light pink & light blue so I don't want to use real pumpkins.  Or anything else you can think of to use as a centerpiece...
I DO like to go all out but I have to make like 6 of them, so nothing too expensive please!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Wizard of Oz Party on: June 04, 2008 05:47:37 PM
Ideas for a 3rd birthday with a Wizard of Oz theme.  Not sure if she's totally set on this idea but just to be safe I'm planning early.  Her other theme is Pink & that would be totally easy.  So hit me with all your ideas...even the crazy ones becuase we go all out.  What I've come up with so far is the goodybags will be little baskets like dorthy's with ginham fabric, asking everyone to come dressed in green, making a yellow brick road, and buying the stand up characters.  I need to make centerpieces, decorations, figure out games, invitations,  stuff to put in the goodybags etc.  Her birthday is a couple weeks before halloween so I'll be able to find witch things, a dorothy costume.  What kind of pinata should we make?Huh
Thanks fo any help!
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Carnival Birthday Party (pic overload) on: May 15, 2008 12:45:40 PM
We had the carnival party yesterday!  It was a lot of work but it was fun.  I think we had 9 games set up, face painting, cotton candy, & popcorn.  Each thing costed 1 ticket, then they won different tickets at each game to buy prizes.  My sister & I made the army tank pinata.  It has nothing to do with a carnival but it's what the birthday boy wanted!  I bought a bunch of Carousel MP3's and blasted them with loud speakers.  I was thinking I needed a bounce house but they had so much to do so it was all good.  Here are the pics:
Invites: And it's supposed to say WEDNESDAY!  Oopsie..

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Gumball machine candy dishes - Easy gift idea on: May 12, 2008 09:52:39 PM
Not an actual gumball machine!    The tops come off so they are just candy dishes.  These are centerpieces for a carnival themed birthday we are having on Wednesday.  They are going to be filled with m&m's, gum drops, mints, & gumballs(duh!)
They cost under $5 each to make using a flower pot, flower pot saucer thingy, glass fish bowl, wooden ball, & paint.  Oh yeah, and the glue I used was E6000.  It would be best to use a sealer or clear coat stuff after they are painted.  You can paint them soooo many ways but I just stuck to solid colors for the party.  The guests can enter their names in a drawing for a chance to win one...but I'm keeping the green one just because it's GREEN!  Post yours here if you try it!

9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Birthday Party Invitation Carnival theme on: May 03, 2008 07:02:16 PM
These are for a 5th Birthday party.  I had to make 22 of them and they were a pain!  I took the pictures at home & edited in photoshop, then printed them at a kodak center thingy.  The tent is card stock printed off of my computer.  They didn't turn out how I thought they would but I like em.  I was planning on putting in a home made admission ticket but they don't really match...oh well.  I can't wait for the party!  I'll post pics in the party planning section afterwards.

10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Need Ideas for Carnival Birthday Invitation on: April 17, 2008 01:58:19 AM
I need to make carnival themed invites for my buddy boy's 5th birthday.  I wanted to make a circus tent that opened up.  I also wanted to use his picture somehow.  The thing is I can't find a good picture of a circus tent.  I always go all out on the invites & decorations but I'm stuck on these darn invites!  They need to be mailed in a couple weeks.  Does anyone have any ideas, or a picture of a circus tent that would work?  I'm also including a big carnival admission ticket(made on the computer) with the invites if that makes a difference.
Thanks for any help!
