1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Present dress & Giraff Skirt on: January 17, 2009 06:25:18 PM
So, I made this skirt from a beautiful linen dress, but it was tooooooooo plain, so: Giraffe Appliqué!

This is a dress I made out of a up-cycled sheet from a thrift store. I feel like a present when I wear it cause of the big bow... but it's super comfy!

I used New Look 6748.

Thanks for looking!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / ObamAppliqué hoodie! on: January 17, 2009 06:13:48 PM
NOTE: we don't have to make this political, it can just be about a cool applique Smiley

Tomorrow I leave to go to DC for the Inauguration Cheesy So yesterday, I made this!

I got the hoodie at a thrift store and the appliqué is made from a up-cycled t from a thrift store Smiley
Thanks for looking!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My first ever dress! Gingam sheet dress :) on: January 17, 2009 06:08:46 PM
I made this dress over the summer (my first! hence the awful zipper!!!!)
Made from an up-cycled sheet from a thrift store using McCalls 5292.

I love it.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My first corset! on: January 17, 2009 06:04:56 PM
My first corset  Grin, made from a up-cycled thrift score skirt, lined with the lining of the skirt.
(sorry for the less than stellar pics  Undecided)

I used Simplicity 2966.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Without you, todays emotions would be the scruff of yesterdays on: January 17, 2009 05:59:35 PM
My appliqué & embroidery Amelie jacket! I loved this jacket that I found at a thrift store, but it was a little plain.... so:

The embroidery is a quote from the movie, which translates to :
"Without you, todays emotions would be the scruff of yesterdays"
The appliqué is made from up-cycled thrift store t's Cheesy
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Lost In Translation Applique! on: January 08, 2009 02:09:44 PM
So this was my first really ambitious (for me!) appliqué. I learned *a lot* from doing it, and may re-do it before I put it on a dress. (I haven't decided if it's good enough to put it on a dress Sad
Made from 100% up-cycled jersey!

It's my favorite image from one of my favorite films.
Thanks for looking & hope you liked it    Cheesy
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Singin' In The Rain Raincoat! on: January 08, 2009 01:59:55 PM
Hello all you beautiful, inspiring Craftsters-
Long time lurker, first time poster. This is only my second ambitious applique, but without further ado...
I scored this awesome vintage London Fog coat at a thrift store a while back, but it was a little plain... then I got an IDEA!

The appliqué is vinyl, so good for the rain!

What do you all think?
