21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Pregnant Mom, New Baby & Toddler Swap Gallery on: February 01, 2012 09:14:06 AM

A pear of really great monopoly shoes, emily wanted to wear the to kindy yesterday, but they are a bit big still, which is better than too small.

I'm glad they are big. They didn't have her size so I bought one up, but even with the conversion I was afraid I might have read incorrectly and they'd be too small. Phew!

I received from carmenmarie the other day! Please pardon the phone pictures. My camera isn't cooperating. Sad

The items, wrapped in my favourite colour~ I love the print of the green tissue!

Unwrapped! Skunk Hat (skunks are my favourite :3), argyle card (Looks like her kids signed it as well! Cheesy) that's hanging on my fridge now, a plaque with Nikolai's name spelled out with Classic Pooh characters (his room) and a super rad electric blue tee with argyle AND his initials! Cheesy

Super awesome

Craftster images keep rotating this one to the side for whatever reason, but there he is, enjoying his new hat! The car seat, not so much hahaha

Thanks so much, Carmenmarie! I've been showing off to everyone!

Whoa I've been busy with life, so I haven't posted, but I am about halfway to completion. The second half of this swap package should come together relatively quickly! Cheesy

I've been having sort of a mental block as far as shoes are concerned. This is probably due to the business of the holidays and my inspiration to get back into all my old hobbies (drawing, sewing, baking, reading). Well, as I was making my tray of Christmas cookies, I finally found some inspiration. There I was, leaning against my counter, unwrapping Hershey Kisses like my life depended on it, when I realized how pretty the colored foil was. Being a supply hoarder, I was debating keeping them (who doesn't love to smooth them out and admire the shiny?) when my brain came up with these:

Unfortunately for me, the base shoe I ordered was..... HALF A SIZE TOO BIG. In my haste, I had forgotten that the particular brand ran a little big. Sad times Sad I didn't want to return them though, because I reeeaaallly wanted to make these, so I decided to make the red one, then I'll soon be making a silver one and they will be part of my Valentines Day decor. Problem solved; yippee! (I will be purchasing a pair in my size though, because I can't NOT have a pair to wear.)

Here are a couple more shots:

As always, thanks for taking the time to look and remember: Stay Inspired! <3

:O! Bummer that they aren't your size. Those would be great New Years shoes!

I love them all, but that last pair. Gee whiz those are cute! Could you possible give me some pointers of how you got the print on there? Is it actual fabric, or paper, or what?

They are made with actual book pages. Smiley However, because my shoes are a source of income for me, I do not do any how-tos, but I do hope to inspire others to get their creative shoe on!

Beautiful work.  I love the skunk boots.  Never thought of working with skunk pelts.  Only ever made mountain man hats out of them.  Wonder what those boots would look like with the tails hanging from the back of the tops?  probably be a tripping hazard anyway.  Keep up the amazing work!

Thanks! I considered hanging the tails from the back as 2 out of the 4 skunks I used had GORGEOUS tails, but it looked too pioneer for what I be wear them with. I have no idea what I'm going to be using the tails for yet.
