1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Supplies for a New Craft - Swap? on: April 22, 2008 05:22:30 PM
I've been thinking over the past couple of days and looking at all the swaps going on.

I was wondering if anyone else would be interested in a sort of 'Start a New Craft' swap.

Similiar to the Givers and Needers type swaps, I'm in a situation where I'm desperate to start crafting more with paper and ephemera but I'm not in a financial situation where this is really possible. But looking around my craft room I've got a ton of quilting supplies and yarn.

So I thought.."Wouldn't it be great if I could fill a box full of quilting supplies and get a box full of paper and ephemera in return?" I don't have enough swaps under my belt to organize, yet, but in my mind it was this sort of setup:

I'd list two crafts that I could fill a flat rate box full of supplies and two crafts that I'd want to get supplies for in return. Then, hopefully, there'd be enough interest that I could be matched up with someone who had paper and wanted fabric.  It doesn't have to be a craft that's new to someone either. If you've got an overabundance of one type of supply and short on another then this would work for you too!

Does it sound like a good idea to anyone else?
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Mystery Quilt - along? on: March 10, 2008 02:36:09 PM

So I am relatively new to craftster but already in love. I'm a long time quilter and one of my *favorite* things is mystery quilts.

So..I wanted to see if anyone wanted to do a mystery quiltalong. I've got a ton of mystery quilt patterns and instructions. I could send them out step by step in emails or post the next steps here on the board. Whichever people wanted.
I wasn't sure if it should go a step a month or a week? ...well, I have a million questions but I wanted to see if anyone was interested.

Anyone want to give it a go with me?
What size quilt would you all want to make?
Would you like a step a month (so..four to six months to get all the instructions) or a step a week? A step every two weeks? I wouldn't want to bog down anyone's craft room with this project.
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Faerie Wings! on: March 01, 2008 03:39:38 PM
I hope this is the right place for these. I did a search and noticed some other *gorgeous* wings posted in this category.
They are certainly a plaything to me!

These weren't made by me but were instead a surprise gift made by my partner in all things. I know he doesn't mind me sharing. I love them so very much. I will wear them when I garden! (And maybe some other times too  Wink )

I might have now become faerie wing obsessed. I already asked him if he had any supplies left over.  Grin
