2  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Re: get an error after every post on: October 28, 2008 03:31:32 PM
Just found this thread in google. I haven't been in here for months and am now on a new computer. I have the same issue, every time I turn a page I get a pop up box that says the following.

an error has occured

log in

It's really frustrating. According to the top left hand side I am signed in. I am using maxthon browser. Don't know if that makes any difference.

To the poster above, if your treasures are sticky and bendy I am guessing that you have either not mixed the two parts correctly or for long enough, could also be an incorrect measure of the two parts? The other thing that I find is if I add pigments and use to much pigment in the mix they stay a little sticky on the back.

Give them a week or two with the back facing upwards, preferably in direct sunlight. After that if they are still a little sticky, heavily sand tha back of them under running water using wet and dry paper. Use finer and finer grades of sandpaper until the back is smooth . I try not to polish the backs as the mounts don't adhere as well.

Ahh yeah, the bezels and ring mounts. I am actually setting up a bead shop in my gallery and I get bulk supplies from the lady who imports everything I am looking for. So as to where they originally came from I am not sure but I have loads if you need some . I got about 100 of each in the first order to trial with . But I will be ordering more in bulk as soon as these get down in number.

Happy to consider swaps even ?? Especially moulds!! grovel grovel. I only have silver at this stage but have a wicked bronze flower antique looking spacer that looks wicked with golds if anyone is interested. It mounts perfectly on the back and leaves a hole for a jump ring to be added.

wow you all have been so busy. Thought I would upload a few pics of the latest treasures!

After miles of research I managed to get hold of some silver pendant and ring mounts. They are so awesome and finish everything so well.

Here goes

"heheheheheheheh" Princess allert. Seriously my other half is going to have his eyes fall into the back of his dome if he does not stop rolling them everytime I have a "princess moment" and put my tiara on !

Hey all of the swaps that are listed in craftster appear to have 2 swaps completed as a requirement! What is with that. Is there a trainee swap section that we can get our training wheels in? I am just itching to do another. Especially now the studio is a little quieter and I have a few more free minutes in my day to play.

I have been naughty since I started using resin and have never really sealed anything that I have embedded and managed to get away with it.

This weekend I found a can of spray sealer, it is used for sealing the surface of artwork ect. It doesn't really put much of a gloss on the surface that you spray but man it makes it so much easier to embed anything!! Tried it on leaves, photos, transperancies etc and it is just fantastic. I am guessing a good coat or two would be great on bugs etc! Have a couple of tiny scarab beetles I have been saving until I was feeling brave. Will try the sealer on them next weekend.

Thanks again monkeygirl,

Had my grandson last night ( yes I am that old haha) and didn't getto get all purple this morning before work! Had to feed ,dress, and generally timewaste getting him sorted to come to work with us..Soooo glad I am neutered lol. Love being a YaaYaa (nana) but man those little critters are time consuming!

Guess I had better find an excuse to go out this weekend and be all purple!! I guess yours didn't make it today then Sad NZpost have bee taking forever since they changed all the standard post parcels to track n trace.

Fingers crossed for Monday. I am dying to see what you think.

Teaser photo was deliberatly slack so it would be a nice surprize! I am going to make a few necklaces similar to the one I sent you for the shop as heaps of people saw it and really loved them...Never made anything quite like it before.Oh yeah and excuse the dreadful crochet attempt. I am a shocker for doing things without patterns, not the best at crochet but because you liked crochet I had a bash at it lol.
