1  short woolies from felted sweaters in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by hildare on: January 04, 2011 09:06:34 AM
I used a combo and an internet tutorial to make these shorties from 2 different old felted sweaters, then attached hearts to cover some holes in the wool (goodwill sweaters- cheap but imperfect).  you can just google shorties from sweaters and find several tutorials, but basically you use the cuffs to make the legs.  cloth diapers ROCK!  and these cover and absorb Smiley

2  snow pixie hat & longies from a sweater in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by hildare on: January 04, 2011 09:02:39 AM
i cut up a felted lambswool sweater, and used the petite purls tutorial for the snow pixie hat for my 14 month old daughter.  I lined the hat with a small piece of flannel, and used some leftover quilt binding for the trim.  I also made some longies with the same sweater.  You can't see the butt of the pants, but there's a poofy pants (cloth diaper) insert from another sweater (from which I made her shorties a while back).
she has a "goat getting" stick in her hand.  we have an overly affectionate billy goat, and she is copying how mommy keeps from getting billy lovin.
here's the tutorial: http://petitepurls.com/winter10/winter2010_s_sewpetite.html

4  simple thicknquick stripey scarf! or: i learn stripes. in Knitting: Completed Projects by hildare on: October 06, 2008 03:55:28 PM
I had only knit scarves.  As in knit without ms. perl.  I sat down with s-n-b and taught myself perling AND stripe knit2perl2's in one night.  I'm pretty excited, and the variegated yarn looks really good with the stripes.  It's modeled by my fh but is a gift for another guy friend.  I know it's simple, but baby steps, y'all!  What do you think?

5  quiver and gun cozy (by my sweetheart) in Completed Projects by hildare on: March 01, 2008 12:24:15 PM
My darling SO is very crafty as well.  He hinted that he'd enjoy having people look at some of what he made, using skins and fur.
The first is a fox fur quiver with crow feathers, the second is a leather (i think elkskin) gun cozy (because it has to be in a holster).
Please tell us what you think!  (I think he's so crafty!)

6  critical mass patch/freehand in Needlework: Completed Projects by hildare on: March 01, 2008 12:17:42 PM
My DSO loves to put the patches on his denim jacket!  I made him a critical mass embroidered patch, freestyle.  It's in blue with dark blue to highlight/shadow.
Tell me what you think!  he likes it  Smiley

7  messenger style groovy print bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by hildare on: March 01, 2008 12:13:38 PM
I made a pattern by cutting it out on a grocery bag.  It's my first attempt at a detailed bag; it's messenger style.  I have to reinforce the straps with nylon webbing, but you get the idea.  I cut stars out of felt and used vintage buttons to decorate.  Please excuse the stupid crazed look on my face.  Tell me what you think!

thanks for looking!

8  doggie bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by hildare on: January 19, 2008 10:05:23 AM
Hi!  This is my first post.  I've been addicted to craftster for a while, though.
I made a "doggy bag" for my friend's birthday.  I made a detachable velcro-ed pouch to put treats in that can be removed and taken separately.  It's pretty basic, but i thought it was cute.

thanks for looking!
