1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: On behalf of the moon, I'll punish you! (Sailor Moon Pillowcases) on: September 09, 2008 01:42:23 AM
Haha, Sailor Moon is the ultimate gateway anime.
Love your pillows! If I were you, I'd hoard the fabric too. You'll never know when the perfect project will come along.
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Yarn Flogger on: September 09, 2008 01:36:54 AM
Hey gals and guys,

long time lurker, first Craftster-shared FO here. I found a diy rope flogger pattern online and couldn't wait to try it out. Some Lion Brand Homespun yarn and DMC thread later...

(aww, I can't post a picture yet)

I wrapped it once and found the handle to be too floppy for my liking. So I broke a cheap wooden chopstick  in half and coated it with some nail polish to keep splinters from grabbing the yarn. Stuck that amongst the yarn in the handle and rewrapped.
The O ring thing is something I had bought from the office section of W*lmart. I think it was meant for index card books and such.

Hehee.  Cheesy

I'm thinking decorating the handle some more, but I'm not sure.
The yarn is so soft, good for sensual play. It'll gently caress the skin no matter how much force you put in your whack.
3  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Old Timey Bathing Costume on: June 04, 2008 10:10:24 PM
So adorable! I love the blue/white contrast, makes it so much more classic.

I wish I'd seen your post earlier. This totally beats wearing a ratty t-shirt over an oh-too revealing swimsuit.
4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Vietmamese Spring Rolls on: May 10, 2008 06:30:20 PM
Spring roll wrappers are like flour tortillas: anything goes.

We usually eat them with rice noodles, boiled shrimp, thinly sliced pork, whatever greens and salads you like, and a Vietnamese style fish sauce, nuoc cham.
The sauce might take a bit to get used to and can be extremely pungent to those unfamiliar with it. But you can always tweak it to taste. My mom usually uses a bit more garlic and replaces the vinegar with some coconut flavored soda and pickled leeks.

And if you can get your hands on some Chinese sausage: boil that up and slice widthwise into disks ~1/2" to 3/4" thick. fry up some eggs and cut into strips. Add rice noodles, boiled bean sprouts, some leafy greens and dip in hoison sauce with crushed (roasted) peanuts. Not exactly healthy, but a good snack.
