1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Great, Quick (but possibly messy), last minute Chocolate Cherry Gift Mice on: November 19, 2006 06:30:57 PM
I'm thinking of making these with the new "limited edition" Cherry Cordial Kisses. Did someone already suggest that?

I tried the cherry kisses and found I have to keep them out of the house...not that they are THAT fabulous, but I appear to have no off button after trying one. But I could justify allowing a bag in if I was making cherry chocolate gift mice! Mmmmm.
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Any ideas for Ramen noodles?? on: January 23, 2005 11:00:56 PM
soubriquet, thank you for the tips on non-fried ramen. I can wait a few minutes more--I'm not 18 anymore.  Cheesy I just wish I had known the deep-fried secret before.

Sigh, another nostalgic food memory proven dangerous. Damn the convenience foods and their wicked, seductive ways!

But I gotta tell you guys... I stopped eating ramen. I looked at the package and always wondered why it was so fatty. I thought maybe it was the spice packet (wishful thinking since I don't use the spice packet.) Turns out that they DEEP FRY THE RAMEN IN FAT before packaging it. This makes it cook really fast, that's why you always see that layer of oil on the top of the water when you cook ramen. This pissed me off a lot - it's like I was being tricked into eating something deep fried when I thought I was just eating noodles. And I got this recipe from a "Healthy Recipes for College Students" cookbook! Bastards.

Wow, I think you managed to kill my ramen addiction. I didn't think anything could do that, but...deep-fried!  Shocked  Ew!
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: best place to order bookbinding supplies online? on: January 02, 2005 12:26:48 PM
Volcano Book Arts has an awesome selection of tools and materials, plus tutorials on various things. They have an awl for $9 on this page:

I actually bought my awl through an art store. I've seen them at larger rubber stamp stores, too. Good luck!

Ok, has anyone put a zipper in the top? I wonder if you just have to cut out all 4 corners instead. can anyone help me out? thanks.

Did you see this thread? It's a tutorial for how to make a zippered-top Jordy bag:

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: help, gift for my ultra cool mom who doesn't covet anything on: December 21, 2004 11:44:06 PM
What about a gardener's journal? If you don't have time to make it from scratch, you can buy a relatively plain blank journal and decorate it with paper, seed packets, flower punches -- whatever is within your reach -- to create a lovely journal that's just begging to store her observations about her garden.

Ooooooh, green hair dye! Then they could BE green with envy!

Okay, that's probably dorky. But it made me giggle.

Can you give us an idea of what you're doing for the other sins? That might give a sense of where to go.

All I can think is that for envy, it's gotta be something green.  Cheesy

Fluffy Monkey, try:

Square Metal Ring at M&J Trim

Many options from Bagfittings & Accessories Company:
(I don't know a thing about Bagfittings & Access, but they have a huge selection.)

Search Google with
"Square ring"         or     "d-ring" square

Good luck!
