1  summer hat! in Crochet: Completed Projects by bassistcoolidge on: May 19, 2009 07:51:23 PM
i started crocheting this little beanie while i was killing time one day. i got a wild hair up my yahoo and decided to get my mohawk shaved off, and it just happened that the hat is perfect for my newly short-haired head.

it rides high a-top my head and doesn't come down very far, making it a perfect summer hat. i also used a sc 1 ch1 pattern, then crocheted under the chains on my next rows through the main body of the hat. the white along the bottom is hdc.

this gives a little better view of the colors and stitchwork and all that technical shiz.

the top of the hat is just a circle, and uses alot of sc and dc thrown in where i feel like it.

the whole thing was worked without a pattern, but is pretty self explanatory. just circle up (not perfectly, you want it to have some curve) and then when it's sufficiently wide, just stop increasing until it's as long as you want it.

it's just a silly little cap to keep me lookin' and feelin' cool for the summer months.

2  first amigurami! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by bassistcoolidge on: April 30, 2009 07:16:51 PM

done from no pattern, so he's a little wobbly. but don't hold it against him, he has a big heart, and dead, dead eyes.

i've had strep all week, so i decided to make my unhappy boyfriend a little somethin' somethin' so he can have a good smiley time, and call me a nerd.

me and the toady are having some quality time in that picture.

i sort of haphazardly did the increases and decreases, and the face was a stitch-venture (pulled out and redid five times), but i'm happy with my little buddy and my introduction to the world of amigurami.

any feedback?

4  accordion hat in Stenciling: Completed Projects by bassistcoolidge on: July 28, 2008 08:39:41 PM
my third try at stenciling. i used cardboard because i'm poor.. or lazy. something like that.

the duck (bill? duck? goose?) says "squeeze." or at least, it should.

it didn't turn into something amazing, but that won't stop me from wearing it to english class tommorow.

in conclusion; summer term is lame, i made a hat.

i am a supah-newb in the forums, so i listed this in clothing first. whoops!

behold! the new wave goodness and funkiness of the tom tom club.

stencil out of cardstock, cut with my bucktool, folk-art paint and medium.

6  first stencil- tom tom club t-shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by bassistcoolidge on: July 25, 2008 01:43:45 PM
i threw together this stencil and shirt in about a half hour- a pretty reasonable amount of time for a pretty sweet t-shirt. the material i used for the stencil was too small, hence the weird lettering for "club."

i used folk-art paint and medium. feedback?

7  first project! crocheted beanie! in Crochet: Completed Projects by bassistcoolidge on: July 23, 2008 03:19:33 PM
It took my a couple days in my down time from summer term (i am obviously a glutton for punishment...) and practicing! it is super sweet! my mom is so proud of me!

it started off from the "anarchy irony hat" from stitch n bitches "the happy hooker," but soon deviated from the pattern into a free form awesome.

my eyebrows suggest that i am devilish! it is true!

thank you, and goodnight!
