1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Our Superbowl Bash on: February 08, 2010 03:11:03 PM
I honestly don't think in all my 34 years of life that I've watched a football game. My husband is from Louisiana though and as soon as I found out that the Saints were in the bowl, I was on a mission to throw a great party for him!

The invites: These I made using a graphic i found online and I put my husbands head on the football player for an added smile Smiley

Food: I made a smple cherry pie football using pre-made pie dough and cherry pie filling, I dumped the filling in, put the top on and cut out a football shape then put some slits and extra dough on the side and topped with egg white and sugar

These football truffles were a huge hit, I got the idea and recipe from http://www.bakerella.com it is oreos and creamcheese mixed together
then dumped in chocolate

bought these because i didn't have time to make them

and I made a humongous pot of chili and hubby made sliders

This is the hanging thingie that I made with the hubby graphic and
the letter templates I found at http://www.marthastewart.com

anyway...just wanted to show ya how i did it maybe it will help someone next year!
everyone had fun and the best part was hubby's team won WOOHOO!

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Baby Shower onesie line, favors & gifts (lots o' pics!) on: January 15, 2010 05:48:28 PM
I'd like to add that I was EXTREMELY low on funds so all of the fabric things were made from my fabric stash.

My 16 year old daughter and I gave a party for her stepmom Smiley While it did feel odd throwing a party for my exhusband and his wife, I just looooove doing parties so I jumped at the chance of being artsy Smiley Thank you to the person who posted the onesie idea, it was a HUGE hit

at first people were VERY leary about going to the table. It was a come and go shower so i told everyone instead of cheesy games we were all making things for the baby to take home. I had a huge basket of fabric paint, sharpies and some pre-made appliques that I made. When people said 'oh, I'm not creative!' I just pointed to the appliques and iron and they were glad they could make something so easily! One lady even called the new mom after the shower and wanted a blank onesie to decorate at home Smiley Even the little kids were wanting to make one

for the shower favors I made tissue holders out of all different girlie prints I had

I got the tissues at dollar tree, they came in a pack of 12 for a dollar. Then i got some cello bags (20 for $1) and put a candle in and made a tag on word thanking them Smiley

for the baby I made a diaper bag with matching bath towel and changing pad

and some bib/burper/washcloth sets

anyway, I hope this helps everyone, I came here often for ideas and want to thank everyone who posted baby shower ideas that I used!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Tinkerbell party IMG HEAVY on: January 22, 2008 09:12:09 PM
This was for my fiancees daughter...

Gift bags with magnetic tag with a poem about tinkerbell and thanking them for coming

bookmarks that i made

makeup bags that i made with lip gloss and nail polish in them

I made this iron on and put it on the backs of white tshirts that everyone signed

wrapped plain pillowcases up and tied them pretty and everyone signed them at the party

I made these cupcakes, the cake was ordered and i made rice krispy treats in the shape of stars and put them on skewers then wrapped them in pink saran wrap

the whole outside of my bf's house was covered with tulle and christmas lights and candles all around so that it would seem magical when you first walked up to the door!!!

It was a great party, hope someone got some ideas!!

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Mad Tea Party / Alice in Wonderland (image obese) on: January 22, 2008 08:58:24 PM
This was my fiancee's birthday party. thought i'd post some pics in case anyone could use the ideas Smiley

i got a huge teacup flower pot at walmart and made a humongo tea bag out of muslin (the stuffing is actually a travel pillow). I threw all different colored sharpies in the cup and when guests arrived they signed the tea bag. The 'tag' on the bag read 'Happy Birthday Paul'

this was the cake i had made

and this is the crazy cake i made

the food was all crazy and there were little cookies that said 'eat me' on them

this was the table setting. Way in advance i found beautiful but irregular teacups and saucers. I put tons of candy in them and wrapped them with shiny clear wrap and had them at each place seting

there were ceramic teapots all around and i got three decks of playing cards at the dollar store and threw them all over the floor.

I found a blow up pink flamingo at a party store and hung it upside down over the table
pink flamingo cups were sitting all around the table with green and yellow m&m's in them

of course we had to dress up

sooooooo much work went into this but it was absolutely worth it! will post tinkerbell party when i get the chance!
