1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / i will NEVER write this paper. (painted lamp) on: October 17, 2007 10:58:06 PM
OK, so I decided to paint my lamp while watching Knocked Up on my computer last night. Sooo funny. Anyway. My dorm room is just so terrifyingly prison-like that I have to keep sprucing. Let me know what you think,

And here is me trying to show you how when the light is on it looks cool because it turns my brown/turquoise paint into a silhouette. I just look like an old lady. Scary.

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / mobile for prison-like dorm room! on: September 04, 2007 05:46:22 PM
My room is cinder blocky and smells weird and I just had to do SOMETHING to break up the space. oh dear. Anyway here is my mobile made out of textiles. the shapes are stars, circles, moons, and a weird spiraly guy. enjoy them

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Is this too hipster? who cares, it's cute. on: August 21, 2007 11:19:37 AM
This started as a men's XXXL  button down from the thrift. It all turned out really well because now I can wear really low-rise jeans and not have to worry about it because the shirt is so long haha  Wink. Anyway, enjoy

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Goodbye, bleach stains. I WIN on: May 20, 2007 01:25:06 PM
This shirt was covered in stains and was just not OK anymore. So...textile scraps became my bff and here is my flower/sun/awkwardly framing my boobs shirt. I just love these Gap cotton tees and could never ever throw one away. THIS is the solution. enjoy,

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / SUMMER DRESS TIMEEEEE on: March 24, 2007 05:53:46 PM
Yay my first homemade dress! Out of a bedsheet and some yellow scraps. All of the yellow stuff is braided. Comments?

the whole thing:

as tacky as exposed zippers are...this one's pink!!!

I have a little bit of fixing to do but I'm too excited to do that right now. Crafting while watching Gilmore Girls is my idea of a perfect use of time.
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / helloooooo johnny! on: March 21, 2007 06:39:37 PM
Johnny Depp is sort of my life. So I just made this guy (not freehand...printed out a photo and made up the shadows) out of a manila folder with my X-acto knife. Notice the little blotch of paint under one of his scissorfingers... That was there before and I put the stencil on this shirt to make it blend in. How frugal of me.

P.S.... SO sorry about me being a major creeper in the background, but I love photobooth so I can just hold up my drying shirt. Yay!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / eeeeeasy cardigan on: December 19, 2006 07:35:42 PM
Plain cardigans are really fun to play around with when you're not in the mood to get frustrated with a whole big project. try it! Sorry about my awkward yellow sweats...but isn't my comforter great?!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Some Skirts -first timer! on: December 12, 2006 12:22:12 PM
So the first one is just fun because it's this great random nautical fabric.

The other one was pretty fun to make, but of course I measured myself wrong and had to insert a charcoal thing in the back to make it fit because I didn't want to buy more fabric, but I think it looks pretty cool with the waistband of the same cheapo quilting fabric. Thanks!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / my first skirt on: December 12, 2006 12:13:11 PM
So i had about a billion of these shirts and decided to make them into a skirt. I know the waistband is a little shaky, but I'm still learning. Thanks!

The polka dotted part of this skirt was just old cheap quilting fabric, and the triangular inserts are textile wallovering scraps.
