111  Bead earrings- more pictures added in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by CamOovas on: March 21, 2008 12:49:05 PM
These are the first earrings I've made.  I actually had much grander plans but they didn't quite work out.   I also planned on having more to post, but I got distracted.

Critiques are very welcome.  Would you wear these?  My ears used to be pierced but I was never really into earrings, so I don't feel I am a good judge.  They are fun to make though!

Some more I made tonight:

112  Superior tacks in CHALLENGE 25 ENTRIES by CamOovas on: March 05, 2008 06:41:13 PM
Well... not tacks per se.  Tiny office art, if you will.

I am from Superior, Wisconsin, but have always lived near the shore of Lake Superior.  Some photos taken at a nearby tourist trap:

What I really wanted to do was a Lake Superior Zen Garden.  But since it is the middle of winter in Wisconsin, pickins are slim when it comes to beach combing.   So I used what I had and made some tiny collages.

With the exception of the solder and wire (and tacks), everything was found at the lake.  So the busted beer bottles and bottle caps are a testament to the pollution, as well as the fact that (rumor has it) Superior has the most bars per capita of anywhere in the United States.  I have no resources to back up that claim, except my share of hangovers.

Disclaimer:  It is bad bad bad to steal from Lake Superior.  Don't do it. Feel free to pick up litter, however.

My weekend projects:

The most simple, but my favorite:

Now I need to get some more marbles and some thicker wire.

Just turn your computer 90 degrees to the left to see the bottom one.  Smiley

115  Wire and glass pendants- *More pictures added* in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by CamOovas on: February 18, 2008 08:41:27 PM
I ordered some pendant trays from paperstudio.com.   Here is some of what I came up with:

The wire is kind of rusting, I'm not sure what to do about that.  Also I must give credit to ParisGirl who's projects steered me to trying watercolor with the last two pendants.

116  Felted rottweiler in Felting: Completed Projects by CamOovas on: February 18, 2008 08:20:53 PM
Here is my second completed needlefelting.  Considerably better than the first, I'd say.  My friend had to put her rottweiler down yesterday so I made her a little replica.  I could get into this.

117  My first needle felting in Felting: Completed Projects by CamOovas on: February 13, 2008 05:30:21 PM
Here it is.  I followed a you tube tutorial that someone posted in another topic.  I'm happy with how it turned out- the ones I have started since aren't going quite as well.

(Also I used some paper I made as the photo's backdrop, as I took it on my dashboard)
