1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Waistbands for string beans on: May 23, 2008 05:02:30 PM
DD is a string bean, she's 67cm/26in long but only 6kg/13lbs so I'm finding that we need bigger sized pants for the length but they're way to big around the waist. I've pretty much stopped buying pants for her in preference to making them but we've been given a lot of things that are too pretty to just not use. I've already thought of pulling the elastic tighter but it's sewn flat into the casing so that wont work. A friend suggested cutting the original elastic off and sewing a new casing for a new waistbands but that makes the pants too short (difficult aren't I?). Does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance Cheesy
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Junk art on: April 11, 2008 05:51:18 PM
Since I found Holli Conger's art I've found a lot of joy in doing "junk art" With the exception of the canvas (which was bought for another project anyway so I guess it counts) everything used to make this was found around my house - the background was created using chalk pastels, brushed over with water and then sprayed with clear gloss finishing spray.
