1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Colour swap on: February 16, 2009 04:35:39 AM
I love colour swaps and I've organized one here in the past.
I would like this to be a monthly swap with different colour combos each month, but let's see how this first swap will go an decide this later.
I would like colour/colour combos ideas so the swap would reflect the favorite colours of people interested in the swap.
For March I was thinking for a colour combo that I think lots of people like: Pink + Green.

These are some rules I thought for this swap, would like your opinion about this too.
1. Everything you send must reflect the colour/colours of the month
2. You have to send at least 1 medium handmade item
3. Non handmade items that can be send, but not limited to: buttons, thread, embroidery floss, stickers, beads, yarns, sequins, etc

Do you think there should be a rule about the number items sent? Like "You have to send 5 items"? What do you think it's a reasonable amount of items to send in this swap? I believe that in the previous colour swap I organized we sent 10 items, do you think that is to much?

I would like to read your feedback about this swap. Thanks Smiley
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / x-mas almost here - help needed on: December 21, 2007 04:02:14 PM
all gifts are bought.
almost all gifts are wrapped.
but not all gifts have been made yet!

i am trying to crochet this poncho: http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=89&d_id=6&lang=us
for my niece. the thing is that i can't understand what they mean with:

"2nd row: The start of the row will be one side (shoulder). Ch 3 (= 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 2 sc, ch 1, skip over 2 sc, * 1 dc in each of the next 3 sc, ch 1, skip over 2 sc *, repeat * - * a total of 3-3-4 times (= 4-4-5 dc-groups), (...)"

could someone explain me what they mean with the text in bold?

thank you so much in advance!

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / package(s) never received, angel(s) never called on: November 20, 2006 03:59:42 AM

this has happened to me a couple of times now and i have no idea of what to make.
i am not even going to talk about swaps that took place last year in which i never got any package and never got angels to replace the packages...

i signed up for a swap that had two organizers (in my opinion that didn't worked properly), someone claimed me but i never got her package, i never got a replacement package and i never got an angel for this swap.
this person doesn't even have this swap listed on the swap feedback on her profile.

i contacted the organizers about this,
what can i do more about all this situation???

i don't even care about the package anymore, i just wish things like this won't happen again because it has happened to me some times now and i think it's really unfair.

7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / colors of europe (CLOSED!) (send by may 31) on: April 27, 2006 09:07:06 AM
Swap name: colors of europe

Craftster member who is organizing this swap: veludo

Sign-up date range: april 27 - may 13

Date to send item by: may 31

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): no

Non-U.S. participants allowed? this swap is only for europe based craftsters. you don't need to be european, if you're living in europe you can sign in.

list and will not allow those members to participate:

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES/NO

Details of swap: you will have to send 10 things to your partner (i think that 10 things are not much and since we are sending to europe shipping will be lower, if you think this is to much please let me know and we'll find a reasonable amount of things to send to your partner) and at least three of them have to be made by you. you can send whatever you want, crafted items, craft supplies, big things, little things (such as stickers, rubbers, pencils, coin purses), candy, etc. the only requirement is that they have to be the color/colors your partner choose.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

Your real name

Three colors you like
What would you like/wouldn't like to receive?

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / europe swap on: March 13, 2006 04:29:26 AM
i was thinking if anyone would be interested in a europe only swap.

i thought about the following swaps:

1. no theme but a we had to send a certain amount of items and some of them had to be made by us

2. a color swap, since it might be hard to get to a agreement on the color, everyone would list one or two favorite colors and every item would have to be that color

not much, i know, but i was hoping that you also would give out ideas.
i hope there's enough people to do this one. Smiley
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / unconditional swap march on: March 07, 2006 05:39:27 AM

10  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / unconditional swap march on: March 01, 2006 06:07:52 AM

Swap name: Unconditional Swapper Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: veludo (Organizers will change every month)
Sign-up date range: No closing date
Date to send item by: Must send out item within 2 weeks of picking a partner
Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): NOPE!!!
Non-U.S. participants allowed? Of course!
All ages allowed? Or 18+?  Sure, but make sure your parents are fine with it!
Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders" list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

For those of you who joined this swap in February:

Feel free to post any 3 wishes you please, they do not have to be the same as last month!

Please remember to send in the form even if you had a list in February, I am a new organizer and i don't have your information!

You must PM the organizer when you repost your list, so she knows that you have done so and can check it. PLEASE DO NOT post anything other than your wishlist and a little bit of info about you, any questions or comments can go here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=50691.0

> Each person interested will post a list of maximum THREE items they want. (Try and list items that you cannot make, but would like to have). These items must be reasonable; it must not be ones that would cost someone a truckload of money to make for you!

> Once you have given your three items good thought, reply to this thread and post your 3 wishes, along with any other information that will be helpful for those looking to craft for you. (Color preferences, style, size, design, etc)

> Those coming along this thread will scroll and read all sign ups, and decide if they want to craft for someone. Those who sign up as well are free to craft for another.

> The catch to this is you cannot expect anything in return for your efforts except THANK YOU!!!. That is why it's called an Unconditional swap. You can hope that someone else or maybe that same person would want to make you something as well and then craft for you. And knowing the great craftsters here, I'm sure everyone will receive something.

> Each month the organizer will change. All information of the swap will be transferred to the next organizer. An announcement will be posted about this change. This month (Mar. 1st to Mar. 31st is veludo) From the first of every other month, a new organizer will be in charge.
> Each person can be picked 2 TIMES! This means that only 2 people can send to someone. Within those 2 people, the person may receive all 3 items. I.e. "A" and "B" are sending to "X". A chooses to send 1 item off the list, while B chooses to send the other 2 items. Therefore fulfilling all 3 wishes of "X".
Now, it is not necessary to fulfill all three 3 wishes..."A" could send just one item and "B" could choose to send one item thereby fulfilling two wishes on "X's" wish list.

> When you post your wish list be sure to mention the country you are in on that post. For example:

I am in India.
Wish 1
Wish 2
Wish 3

> Once you have been picked twice your name will be crossed out in red on the list. You can be on the list again the next month, when the organizer changes.
> The crossed out names can be back on the list once the organizer changes (Every month)

> As soon as anyone picks a partner, you have to ship them, their stuff within 2 weeks.

> If more than one person picks a person and wants to make them the same item, then the person who Pmed the organizer first will get preference to make that item.

I would appreciate if you could PM me with the DC number or scan the receipt and email me a copy.

> All in all this is sort of a good karma swap. Give unconditionally is your motto my fellow craftsters.
> All regular swap rules do apply for this. All of you who sign up will be screened to see if you are eligible to join the swap. Including Newbies.

> Positive and Negative feedback will be given for this swap. Your feedback will reflect the number of people you send to that month.

> When you pm me your wish choices, please include their craftster name, wish # and wish.

*** NEW ***
Like L did in February I will be posting who has chosen who.

"There's been a lot of talk about flaking and since this swap has a higher potential for flaking than others, I've taken the suggestion to post who is taking who's wishes in a format similar to the Ongoing Wish Swaps. If you really want to keep it a secret, thats fine, just let me know when you pm with your choice(s). I am just giving this a try to see how it goes, the next organizer may choose not to do it this way. My intention is to cut down on the amount of flaking that is happening with this swap." L

Feel free to post your lists after you send me your info.

When you have been picked PLEASE crossout and change the colour of your post accordingly. If you need help with that, feel free to PM me.

note: some people are not sending all the following information when signing in the swap. i don't have to be searching for your e-mails or sending pm asking for all the info. from now on i won't be accepting any sign in that isn't fully completed, organizing this swap already takes up a lot of time, i don't need any extra work from it. if everyone cooperate things will be easier for all.
