1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / echino print chair on: November 09, 2011 04:23:14 AM
I recently acquired an old chair from my late Grandmother's house.  It had been in her basement for quite awhile and it needed a lot of work, but after some cleaning and adding some new fabric it fits right into my living room.
This echino fall 2011 print was great because the patchwork hides my poor sewing!

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Log Cabin blanket on: March 29, 2011 04:31:08 AM
I'm still trying to use up a giant yarn stash, so I decided to make another blanket.  I didn't want to go with the typical granny square, so I decided to try a log cabin method instead.  I think it turned out alright.  I'm really happy just to be finished with it Smiley

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / crocheting some color into my life on: December 05, 2010 03:47:18 PM
I was inspired by Attic24's blog to bring some color into my very beige living room.  I used her pattern to create a giant colorful granny stripe blanket that allowed my to use up a lot of my stash.   Then I needed a throw pillow to go with it Smiley  Most of the yarn is Caron's simply soft, but their are a few other brands thrown in here and there.

I chained 240 stitches with an I hook to get started.  It is really long!  Everyone in the family loves it, so I'm going to have to make another Smiley
4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Yummy Plum Butter on: September 11, 2010 03:09:32 PM
My family stopped by a local orchard to buy some apples and found they had some lovely stanley plums for sale.  They looked delicious, so I had to buy them, but I bought a 1/2 a peck.  Way to many for us to eat before they went bad.  I remembered seeing a plum butter recipe in Mary Jane Butters Farmgirl book.  I promptly found it and made the most delicious plum butter I have ever eaten.  Honestly, I have never eaten it before.  I do like it better than apple butter though.  It is made with just plums, sugar, water, lemon juice and five-spice powder.  Yumm!

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / little felt birds on: September 11, 2010 02:58:33 PM
I made some little felt birds for Miss Alexz's wedding.  I based them off of Melissa Sue Stanley's birds, and while they aren't as cute as hers, they are cute.

6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Every boy should have a Hobbes on: August 28, 2010 03:26:12 PM
I haven't crafted much at all during 2010.  I don't know why, but I just haven't felt the urge to make anything in awhile.  But, my son was turning 9 and he had been asking me to make him a Hobbes for awhile, so I decided to pick up my crochet hook and see what I could do.
I really like how he turned out.  He took me two days to complete.  I was almost afraid to stop (since lately if I stop, I don't finish).  My son is thrilled with him and that makes me happy.

I hope you like him Smiley
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Hello Dear on: December 13, 2009 03:43:48 PM
I've had Elizabeth D.'s book for awhile and I've been wanting to make this deer for sometime.  I just needed a good reason, so since it was my mom's birthday  this weekend and she is quite the wildlife lover I decided this would be a great gift for her.
The pattern worked up really quickly and I think the deer turned out quite wonderful.  I love how she stands on her own Smiley

Enjoy and happy crafting Smiley
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Monster bags on: October 17, 2009 07:35:15 PM
I was perusing etsy the other day and came across djones' monster bag pattern and I thought they would make great Christmas presents for my nephews.  I've already made four and I have plans for at least one more.

9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / My first free spirit doll on: September 23, 2009 08:01:00 AM
I think I first saw this doll on craftster which led me the to Beth's web page here: http://byhookbyhand.blogspot.com/
This pattern was so much fun to work up and I plan on making a couple of more for Christmas presents.  This first one is mine though Wink because I always make mistakes with the first one, not because I'm greedy or anything...

Thanks for looking Smiley
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Deer Valley Grab Bag on: September 08, 2009 06:39:32 PM
I had Labor Day off, but my husband had to work, so I decided to catch up on some projects. I recently bought some of this wonderful Deer Valley fabric (It's like John Deer, but fancy Cheesy ), but I only had a 1/2 a yard.  I decided to make the grab bag I had come across on whipup awhile ago.  I really liked how it turned out, but I really need a bigger bag to hold all of my gear.

and I had just enough fabric left over to make a pillow cover (I had to use corduroy for the back)
