11  My first free spirit doll in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by teachingjonah on: September 23, 2009 08:01:00 AM
I think I first saw this doll on craftster which led me the to Beth's web page here: http://byhookbyhand.blogspot.com/
This pattern was so much fun to work up and I plan on making a couple of more for Christmas presents.  This first one is mine though Wink because I always make mistakes with the first one, not because I'm greedy or anything...

Thanks for looking Smiley

12  Deer Valley Grab Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by teachingjonah on: September 08, 2009 06:39:32 PM
I had Labor Day off, but my husband had to work, so I decided to catch up on some projects. I recently bought some of this wonderful Deer Valley fabric (It's like John Deer, but fancy Cheesy ), but I only had a 1/2 a yard.  I decided to make the grab bag I had come across on whipup awhile ago.  I really liked how it turned out, but I really need a bigger bag to hold all of my gear.

and I had just enough fabric left over to make a pillow cover (I had to use corduroy for the back)

13  Re: Birds birds birds Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by teachingjonah on: August 26, 2009 07:12:12 PM
Those branches are lovely and I love the necklace.  littlepooky has sent me the best package ever, and I promised pics tonight, but I had to take them inside and they are just not doing everything justice, but I think I'll post them anyway because people need to see her amazing work.  I'll be back after uploading my pics.
O.K. I'm back with an overwhelming number of pictures for a small swap because littlepooky and I decided to make this a slightly (ha) larger swap.
I've coveted littlepooky's work ever since I saw what she made for the coraline swap, and I've really become quite a fan of everything I have seen that she has done.

On with the pics:
First some adorable bookplates.

Then a wonderfully decorated tray with the bookplates inside (the color looks truer here).

She put those birds on her note to me as well and I think they are just completely charming Smiley
Then a bird pincushion and a birdhouse windchime

And a beautifully decorated box

and totally inspired by two things on my wists a wall organizer with an image inspired by a felted bear on my wists (I was in love with the bear before https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=239274.0
and even more in love with littlepooky's version) and she says she is not a seamstress but this wall organizer is spectacular.

and a pouch with a bird and a doxie (just like my Dora Smiley )

and this isn't really bird related, but she made me a memo bird with images of my two boys and really terrific bottlecap pushpins!!

littlepooky has been the very best swap partner ever!!!

rlynn, you did a fantastic job on the resin jewelry.  It looks terrific.

I received my sweet package from janellej today.  Always nice to start Monday with a good surprise.

I knew the needlebooks were coming, but the earrings and buttons were a great surprise.  I love the little box that is holding the buttons too.  Thank you!

15  Back on the poppet bandwagon in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by teachingjonah on: July 04, 2009 10:24:34 AM
I haven't made a poppet in awhile due to work and a slight crafting slump, so I jumped at the chance to make one for musiclady in the ows 47.  You can see her in her new home here https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=308488.msg3581141#msg3581141

I actually used the same hair on her that I used on my very first poppet.  I crocheted her top and sewed her some corduroy pants using craftewoman's pattern.

She has a lot of cute details.  Thank you Sajona Smiley
I'm sorry for the delay.  My camera's batteries always seem to be dead when I need it.

MareMare received her package and I hope she'll still post action shots, but I thought I'd go ahead and post one pic of the package I sent.  It is very pink and purple!

There were two stenciled shirts, two drawstring bags, two headbands and two ami owls.

I've had this pattern for awhile and finally got around to making myself a starghan.  It is fairly large and covers most of me (I'm 5'10) and it is made with caron simply soft.

thanks for all of the inspiration Smiley

20  Re: Children's Ongoing Wish Swap Round 6 (COWS 6) Gallery in The Swap Gallery by teachingjonah on: March 09, 2009 04:39:52 PM
I got flaked on earlier in this swap, but christinacoghill did fantastic job as an angel and made my boys very happy.  She made them matching fabric boxes for their goodies out of very cool shark fabric, and then she filled them Smiley.  Thank you so much!

She gave them each a big box of crayons, bubbles, stickers, figurines(cowboys/indians and pirates), and glow bracelets.
