1  New Moon Drawing- 3 Versions in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Annie-bleam on: November 18, 2009 03:07:02 PM
I just finished re-reading the second book, prep for the movie, and I felt inspired to try drawing the three main characters. I don't do much cartooning or illustration, I am much more comfortable with realism, but it's the style I started drawing in way back when. It was pretty fun and I think I will trying keep it up!

This is the original sketch.

Tried re-drawing it in photoshop, also something I need to keep practicing!

Color version in photoshop.

I think I like the original sketch the best, Edward and Jacob look the closest to what I had in mind in that one.
Thanks for looking Smiley

2  Skull Kitchen Hanger- Image Heavy! in CHALLENGE 42 ENTRIES by Annie-bleam on: September 01, 2009 05:23:19 PM
This is my first Craftster challenge entry- wahoo! I had a blast making this project, I will never look at a $ store the same again! Take a look and let me know what you think, thanks!

My $10 worth of supplies. The main idea came from the skulls and bobby pins.

I straightened the bobby pins and then made a fan using fimo. I cooked it with pins in and it worked great.

Hammering all of the tacks was the tedious part of the project.

I hung the whole thing from the chain dog leash.

The hanger in it's new home, the kitchen!

3  Whimsical Refurbishing- two projects in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Annie-bleam on: May 12, 2009 10:21:43 PM
I am slowly but surely replacing all of my crappy college furniture with solid, sturdy and nice things. Here are two things that have good bones but that both needed a face-lift!

This used to hold sheet music and now it holds 12x12 paper perfectly.

I sort of picture this chest in a fairy tale like Alice in Wonderland or The Secret Garden.

Thanks for looking!

4  Mural for In-laws... Finally Done! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Annie-bleam on: April 07, 2009 09:33:36 PM
Here is the mural I have been working on for my in-laws for about 4 months. I only worked on it about once a week because I sort of had to figure out how to paint all of these random things and make them look like they belonged together. It definitely stretched my abilities. (I'm glad it's done!) Let me know what you think, thanks!

Close up of dandelion.

Me with the painting. (for size perspective)

5  Candy Land Trio in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Annie-bleam on: March 29, 2009 09:55:22 PM
My crazy/awesome little sister loves all things zombie, vampire & dark BUT she also loves sparkly, pink, girly things. She's sort of a Sour Patch Kid: sour then sweet Smiley So I made these three Candy Land characters for her pink side and I'm sure it will hang in her apartment with something ghoulish! Love you sis!

6  Two Home-y Project: Side Table and Organizer in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Annie-bleam on: March 09, 2009 04:32:01 PM
These are my two recent projects:

This was a thrift store find that I spray painted and then lined with vintage papers.

My husband and I made this side table as a 'practice' project and I think it turned out okay for our first piece of furniture. We definitely learned a few things to avoid next time!

The last two years I lived in Alaska but I recently moved back home to Washington. It was quite an adventure! I made this book of photos from the trips of everyone who came and visited us in Alaska. Let me know what you think!

8  Jewelry Box Makeover- Asian Style in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Annie-bleam on: January 19, 2009 11:42:57 AM
I bought this ugly-but-had-potential jewelry box at a thrift store for $3. I gave it a black spray paint shower, a decoupage session with some asian paper I'd had for way to long...and WAH-LA: an awesome asian jewelry box to keep me organized. I'm totally going to keep my eye out for more boxes and make them as presents.

Detail of the lid.

9  Altered Earring Holders in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Annie-bleam on: September 30, 2008 02:37:21 PM
I came up with this earring holder project simply because I have a lot of earrings and needed a better way to store them. So far I have made 4 blank earring holders and altered two of them, and already I am thinking of ways to switch-up this design to hold necklaces and bracelets... I've included a simple sketch, it is not a perfect plan but it will get a person started. Thanks for looking!

10  Table Make-Over, Henna Style! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Annie-bleam on: June 06, 2008 06:53:59 PM
This little table was looking rather sad so I gave it a henna make over. I used all sorts of mediums: pen, color pencils, acrylic paint and even a spray paint gold marker. Right now it is in the varnish faze and still has a bunch of coats to go. It is crazy and fun, I'm excited to try it out!
