1  Tulip Throw in Crochet: Completed Projects by Cabin Fever on: March 19, 2010 07:07:21 PM
I finally finished this throw for my sisters birthday.  I used Bernat Softee Chunkee yarn, then ran out of yellow. If you do decide to make this be sure to use a different brand, since they are discontinuing the yellow(or maybe all of the Softee Chunky)  Took me forever to find some, but finally did in Canada, and got this in the mail today, it will be a few days late, but oh well.

I love this pattern, it works up really fast and it simple.

The pattern is from Moda Dea, which is also a discontinued yarn:

2  Quick Project in Crochet: Completed Projects by Cabin Fever on: September 04, 2009 03:01:27 PM
I've been so busy this summer I haven't had much time to do anything, but the other day I just sat down and crocheted, one hat lead to the mittens, and the mittens lead to the booties.  Amazing how I start one thing and get ideas for others.  I'm thinking my grandsons will be kinda cute in these hats:

I love the swirl design, it works up really fast.

I met Luckdragon through our Sweat Shoppe swap and I noticed that she sews so great. So I asked her to swap with me. I made her a couple of items out of the Happy Hooker Crochet book and she made me this knitting needle holder that I can hang on my wall. I love it!

As a bonus she added some Sensations yarn. How nice is that!

Thanks Luckdragon!

7  "Crazy Quilt" Afghan in Crochet: Completed Projects by Cabin Fever on: April 05, 2009 10:13:50 AM
I just finished this afghan, I had it in my head I wanted to do one only in red and white, with a variety of sized granny type squares.  The big square was adapted from a pattern on Lions Brand website, the small squares were in my old Readers Digest book and the oblong ones I had to make up since I couldn't find anything similar to what I was wanting.  I wanted it to have that crazy quilt look to it, so a lot of the squares didn't match up and I added rows here and there to help give it that crazy look.  I wasn't sure if the whole thing was going to come out semi squared or not, but I don't think it looks too bad, and I love just having it red and white.  I used Genova yarn, it has a really nice feel to it.  Thanks for looking!

8  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap 18 (signups until April 13) (Send by May 4) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Cabin Fever on: March 31, 2009 01:53:44 PM
guineverefree, the journal sounds great, but that is because I already have one of your broomstick lace scarves! I bet others would love one too.  I'm going to be traveling during this swap, so I pre made the hats and I'll take them with me to mail from there.  I'm only offering 5, but I have 6 to pick from:

9  Crochet Challenge 9 Entry: The Hannah Sweater in Crochet: Completed Projects by Cabin Fever on: March 31, 2009 11:24:28 AM
I'm early too on this challenge, but it's my first challenge I've entered so I was excited to get it done.  This newborn sweater and headband are in the Ripple Stitch from my 1979 Readers Digest, Complete Guide to Needlework book.  They don't give you patterns just stitches.  They describe the Ripple Stitch as " Asymmetrical shell stitches in a compact pattern"  Whatever, lol, I just liked the way it looked.  The yarn I used was Bernat Cotton Tots, it is so soft, but it took almost 2 skeins, plus worked in this shell made it more like a jacket then a sweater!  I wish I had a newborn handy to try it on, but no luck, maybe in November my grandbaby (hopefully a girl named Hannah!) will be born.  Sorry about all the blah, blah, blah, here it is:

And a close up of the stitches:

I worked this from the shoulders down, so it would end with the ripple on the edges.

My husband knew what togue was!  This is the one I was thinking of too, maybe you haven't seen it.

I'm glad you are getting some use out of yours Gatorwrangler!
They don't take long to do, so I could wait until everyone get's their pick and just make the color they want.

Susie, You should do the washcloths, they really are nice!
