1  Elbac gift but now it's mine in Knitting: Completed Projects by epic1313 on: February 09, 2009 12:12:03 PM
So, for Christmas this year I decided to make my sister a scarf. A Nice Scarf. I made the Elbac scarf from knitty, Winter 2006. It is beautiful. All reversible cables and red and made from Plymouth Yarn's Suri Merino. Sadly it's too scratchy for her, but lucky me, she gave it back. So I now have something I knit and can wear. I never knit for myself, so it's a treat. Sad she can't wear it, but I'll find a new yarn for her. So, here are the pictures. The first shows the cables, the second show the color better.

2  Re: Dishalicious Dishcloth/Washcloth Swap Round 7 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by epic1313 on: February 09, 2009 12:01:03 PM
Here they are. There is a round one and a square one.

I love the round one. I made one for someone else in a swap and kept saying I want one for myself, but I so rarely knit for myself. It's just the color I would have chosen too Smiley And actually a color I sent my partner. LOL.

The square one is awesome too.

It has little holes in it. You can see them better on the black countertop, I think. What pattern did you use for this? It's great. It works really well too. Get nice and frothy Smiley I used it to wash dishes last night.

Thanks so much Calsters. Grin

My partner never posted pictures, but she said she liked it and stuff. I just wanted to show off a little. I've never made anything like this before, and I really liked how it turned out.

Here's my record purse. I have a ton of records and used two with interesting middles.

You can see both fabrics in this one. I used leopard print for the outside and solid red on the inside. They were both leftover from other projects.

And I sent along some extra fabric. I got a bunch of fabric from my grandma when she past away last December and I have been unsure what to do with it. So, I sent some of that to pad the box and because I thought my partner would like it. It's very pretty gold and silver fabric.

So, I finally have time to post some package pictures. I love both of my packages. They are great! Thank you Javastain for the knitting needles, reusable bags and the extra snowed-in dish cloth.

The needles are in the card so they didn't get lost in the package. Great idea! Also, I love the happy halloween-y paper. I do get sick of christmas stationary Smiley

SevsOnlyGirl sent me lots of handmade soap and lotions and a pair of exfoliating gloves all in a really cool bag.

Hot cocoa and tangerine lotion

Mint turtles and rose hearts

Exfoliating gloves and felting soap. With the felt and directions of how to do it. That looks really cool. I can't wait to try it.

Hot fudge, grapefruit and Monkey fart (?!?!) lip gloss and a pot of peppermint lip gloss

Clockwise from top left, hot chocolate, tangerine, cinnamon bun and lemon soap

Tangerine and snickerdoodle bath salts

Thanks so much guys Smiley This has been a great swap. Happy birthday y'all!

5  Re: Holidays Cookie Swap Gallery of Yumminess in The Swap Gallery by epic1313 on: December 20, 2008 10:37:19 AM
I finally received! And man it was totally worth the wait. Craftastrophe, you outdid yourself.
Before opening the cookies, I got Bookmarks, a magnetic pad, silver snowflake notecards, 3 cookie cutters and spatulas. One with gingerbread men that is so cute. And a recipe for chocolate chocolate chip cookies.

Then I opened the cute chinese food takeout kind of containers and the cookies are fabulous!

They are moist and brownie-like. They help up really well in the mail, even with the extended post time. Thank you so much. This was a great swap and the cookies are fantastic.

Here is my package from Jackmo. I got a crochet pot holder, a triforce pin cushion (?) and a wonderful necklace.

Here's everything together.

And the flip side of the pot holder.

And me in the necklace.

I put it on as soon as I opened it and wore it all day at work. Thanks you so much. I really appreciate it.

Am I the first to post on the gallery? That's exciting. I received from Zelda.Suicide yesterday and I am super excited. We swapped 2 and decided to throw in one we'd already done, since we both have a stash of cloths.

Thanks Zelda.Suicide. I can't wait to use them. They are gorgeous.

9  First blanket in Knitting: Completed Projects by epic1313 on: August 19, 2008 11:16:07 AM
This is my first blanket that I have ever made. I reallllly like it. So much so I want to keep it, but I can't. My friends are getting married and I decided it would be nicer to make them a wedding gift than to buy something for them. So, I made a triple-strand blanket made with Lion Brand Homespun. It has 2 strands of Williamsburg (blue) and 1 strand of cream. The pattern was from a book I got from the library. I began it on April 24 and finished it this weekend. The wedding is in Sept. so I did good with finishing it in time. But, now I have a friend getting married in Oct. who I am making pillows for ... Maybe handmade wasn't a good idea  Wink

Anyway, On with the pictures. The first is after I had completed one pattern of it. The pattern was 16 rows long.

And here it is finished ... like magic. It's on my king size bed, for size reference.

Close up of the stitch pattern. It's homespun, so the stitch definition isn't great, but that's fine with this pattern.

Final project ended up at about 47 x 63.

I forgot to ask ... What do I do with 6 skeins of the homespun I have leftover? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

10  Re: the delicious Good Eats/Alton Brown swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by epic1313 on: August 15, 2008 12:22:52 AM
I got photos of my fabulous swap. Yay! First up is the whole group together. In this you can see the handmade card I forgot to take a picture of. It has a cool paper thing with a hound (just like AB's). It also has a very cute crochet tea bag guy that has lavender (I think) in it. It's funny. I actually bought something like this from etsy for my mom for mother's day and really wanted one, but didn't buy one for me. And now I remembered it's on my wists. Good stalking.

Except for the magnets which made it to the fridge immediately. One is black with "AB" on it. The other is clear with his face in it and glitter all around. I <3 glitter. ... Wonder if my roommate will notice them. hehe

So, then we have the three multi-tasking cotton cloths. Love the colors on these.

Next we have the wonderful decoupage recipe box. With cards inside which I forgot to take photos of but are great.

There is a journal, which I haven't decided what to use it for yet, but love. It has the saying "Life happens over coffee" which I absolutely love. It also has an "A" and a "B" on wooden beads in the spiral binding. Which I just saw dangling things and like them. Didn't realize until my boyfriend pointed it out that they said "AB" hehe. I'm really slow.

And last but not least, the resin necklace with interchangeable charm, and coffee bean (I Love coffee) and a resin bracelet with 2 coffee beans.

In short (too late) I love everything. I put the necklace and bracelet on and wore them all day. I don't wear a lot of jewelry, but these are so fun. Thanks Kurtzie It's great!
