1  Re: Disposable Camera Swap Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by mummy to flo on: May 18, 2008 10:24:12 PM
Hello everyone

So sorry I haven't posted more on the thread (I have only just come to the end of a very long 5 week mortgage application   Angry which was a total nightmare from start to finish!)

I love the frames everyone got - (apart from mine,  Grin - I think my favourite if the button frame - so cute  Smiley ) I can't take a picture of my frame at the mo (do you have one pinkguin?), my dad has pinched his camera back - how dare he, and I can't for the life of me find a USB cable to fit mine!

There are so many pics I love, the swing picture and the little one of the dogs nose peeking out are fab ooh and the old man in the library - how sweet (and he has a little piece of fame!) Can we do a one way airplane ticket swap please, I want to live in Singapore!

I loved the pictures and fame Pinkguin sent me, there are soooo many gorgeous photos - it is such a diverse place I was truely amazed at how many different types of areas there are - I will try and upload as many as I can - but there are seriously loads and loads and loads), so here are my faves!:

Lovely palm trees gorgeous beach - but what are those people doing under the tree?! Looks rather rude!

I think that has to be my fave picture - thats one totally gorgeous building!

I love the pigeon in the middle - he looks like he had a bad day at the office!

D thank you so much for my gorgeous photo's I loved 'exploring' your town Cheesy

2  Glass cube brooch and Choker in Beads: Completed Projects by mummy to flo on: April 02, 2008 11:30:38 AM
I just wanted to share my first attempts at a brooch and choker I made recently for a swap, I found some gorgeous glass cube beads that I found at a craft show in Olympia (London), as far as first attempts go it turned out ok Smiley

The photo's aren't particularly inspiring!

I also found these amazing beads at the same show, again there glass large and chunky - but I really don't know what to do with them as there just so big! But I couldn't resist!

3  Re: UK & ROI Instant Swap 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by mummy to flo on: April 02, 2008 07:00:49 AM
My swap items have arrived their amazing, I put on my questionnaire that I would like things to brighten up my daughters room, as I have the worst landlord in the world who wont let me paint or anything!

The first thing my daughter said when she saw everything was 'oh WOOOOOW whats that mummy', so I have two very happy little girls, the pictures I have taken aren't great as dd was jumping around the place (in excitement) and the camera kept turning it self off, so I'm charging the battery and will take some better pictures later - but I'm so so chuffed, thank you so much.

Chloe's 'castle' as she calls it! - there is a better picture

The butterfly bunting and 'Chloe's castle', I will take a better picture of the bunting

The beautiful cushions - that you can't see very clearly. Chloe and Emma are carrying them round at the minute, so I may have to sneak them out when their asleep tonight and take more pictures.

I'm totally in awe of the beautiful work (and now petrified that I haven't done as good a job), so so chuffed Smiley

4  Re: Finishing elastic and memory wire? in Beads: Discussion and Questions by mummy to flo on: March 03, 2008 11:36:55 AM

I can't help with finishing elastic as the knots I use always slide out and the beads go everywhere, so I will be interested to see what other people say, as I have some lovely beads that I would like to use with elastic.

I make most of my bracelets with memory wire and I have found that to get neat little loops the best pliers to use are long nose internal pliers - they dont have a serrated edge and therefore dont leave a ough finish, it also means you can add little beads on jump rings to finish off the ends.

They look like this:

I have found a lovely simple but effective bracelet to make is using 4 or 5 continuous loops of memory wire and threading seed beads and occasionally bigger beads - looks lovely and really cheap and simple to make - mine looked like this:

Hope that helps

5  Re: I'm stuck in a seed bead rut - please help me get out! in Beads: Discussion and Questions by mummy to flo on: February 28, 2008 10:51:35 AM
Thanks for the link to the website - great for inspiration.

NaomiJ the pliers I use to finish off memory wire are called long nose internal pliers, memory wire isn't too difficult to make a loop once you have discovered the joys of these pliers - the make the finish really neat and tidy - I have taken a picture of them for you

hope that helps
