1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Sweet Baby Blanket on: January 10, 2013 04:41:15 PM
I love making baby blankets Smiley Smiley All of the fun of making a blanket, without having to invest a ton of time/yarn in a grown up version! I made this baby out of some Simply Soft yarn I already had in my stash, and made up the pattern as I went along. Gifted it to a coworker at her baby shower, and she loved it. Success!

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Melted Crayon Wall Art! on: September 27, 2011 08:04:54 AM
I simply had to jump on the melted crayon wagon after seeing all the fun pieces people have come up with! I used an 8x10" wooden canvas that I painted black first, and then held the crayons while melting them down the front. I rather adore it Smiley

Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture, it's all I have for the moment Smiley
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / <3 Twilight <3 on: March 20, 2009 03:50:29 PM
I totally <3<3<3 Twilight! And yet, I have not been able to see the movie yet (darn single-motherhood makes it hard to find a sitter!!), so I am crazy excited about it's DVD release tomorrow! I made several photo pendants to commemorate the occasion, lol Smiley

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Blue & Green Button Box on: August 20, 2008 02:39:11 PM
My boyfriend rescued this old wooden box from the trash and brought it home for me to "do something crafty with" (those where his exact words! *lol*). I painted it a plain blue for a base coat, then finished it off with a shiny blue paint. I used gorgeous scrapbook paper to line the top and insides, and then glued a million buttons to the top. The interior top has a small sticker that says "bloom into you" in the middle. Sweet, simple and I love it! It now sits on my bedside table, holding my journal and lavender sachets- which is a much better use than rotting in a landfill, right?! Smiley

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / A baby quilt made from baby clothes! (image heavy) on: July 20, 2008 09:59:49 PM
Let me start off by saying I am no quilter. I LOVE quilts, but do not have the patience required for a beautiful and large piece! Here is my second quilt, made from squares of my youngest sons clothes. There are several places where the squares didn't line up properly, but I don't really mind. I used a large piece of blue anchor fabric that I have had in my stash for several years, and simply folded over the edges and stitched around twice to hold it. I used small bits of yarn to tie the layers together, in several places all over the quilt. I love it and the baby loves it,  so that's all that matters! It's so soft and comfy I want to make myself one Smiley

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Jim Henson and Muppet Necklaces! on: July 11, 2008 07:03:33 PM
I made these for the I <3 Jim Henson swap, and now that my partner has received I can finally share! I had a real hard time sending these off, I loved them so much!

Beaker and Dr. Teeth! My avatar was so awesome, I had to make it into a pendant Smiley I also made the decoupaged box they are laying on. This was an awesome swap!
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My new cosmetic bag! on: July 11, 2008 06:15:06 PM
I used the tutorial here on Craftster called "Straight Sided Triangular Cosmetic Bag", and it was so easy!  Mine is slightly wonky due to a longer zipper (whoops) but I love it anyway! This was my first time using a zipper, and it went so much better than I had imagined. And how cute is this pirate fabric?! I found it on sale this week at Joanns, and fell in love.

Let me know what you think!
8  UNITED STATES / North Carolina / Raleigh Craftsters- Lets shop! on: July 07, 2008 05:53:15 PM
Anyone in the Raleigh area want to meet up? Visit several art/craft stores, then have lunch or grab some coffee? I just thought it would be nice to meet some like-minded (read, crafty!) people in town!

I like to do a little bit of everything, from knitting and crochet to mixed media collage and jewelry. Some of my favorite shops in the area are: Jerrys Artarama, Ornamentea/Panopolie, Artists Oasis, Shuttles Needles & Hooks, good ol' Joanns, Great Yarns, and there is a quilt shop in Cary that I have been meaning to check out (it's right next to Shuttles).

Any takers?
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A sweet new baby doll for my sweet girl! on: July 05, 2008 11:15:39 PM
My daughters birthday is coming up soon (the big 6!) and although she's getting her own sewing machine, I felt the need to whip her up a few fun things to go along with it! I used the Black Apple Doll pattern (http://www.marthastewart.com/article/black-apple-doll) and unfortunately I stuffed the limbs a little too much, but she's colorful and fun nonetheless Smiley

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Red Sox Rule! Domino Pendant :) on: June 28, 2008 06:24:06 PM
So yeah, the Red Sox are the greatest baseball team ever. No question! I declare my steadfast loyalty with my newest necklace-  I mod podged the image onto a bamboo pendant that I had painted blue (with lumiere paints..god how I love those). I then used blue wire, strung with a few red seed beads and attached it to a ball chain necklace. Love!
