11  self-designed sweater of many buttons! in Knitting: Completed Projects by ohmystars on: August 26, 2006 08:46:17 AM
here's a sweater i designed and just finished inspired by delia's and kim hargreaves designs  Cheesy

(click these to enlarge)

i used about 9 balls of debbie bliss merino chunky on a 5.5mm circular needle.
it's a simple top-down raglan, you can see the rather rudimentary pattern here! i plan to add a big shawl collar once i buy more yarn, to make it extra-snuggly.

more details on my blog, link in my sig Smiley hope you like!

16  self-designed razor shell lace cami - with pattern in Knitting: Completed Projects by ohmystars on: May 20, 2006 03:10:12 AM
hey! just sharing my latest FO, a self-designed razor shell lace camisole.

i designed it to be very form-fitting since the lace is so stretchy. there's no shaping at all. click to enlarge:

laid flat, you can see how much negative ease i worked in!

detail shots, click to enlarge:

pattern can be found here. i hope it makes sense, i'm no good as writing patterns since i hardly ever use them  Cheesy if anyone wants to test it go ahead, and i'd love to see the results.

18  Up for a challenge? (Kaffe Fassett's 'Brocade' from Rowan 38) in Knitalongs by ohmystars on: May 11, 2006 09:34:46 AM
i've had my eye on the lovely 'brocade' sweater by kaffe fassett since i got rowan 38.

i'm going to need some moral support and help along the way, though! anyone else fancy it? i hope to have it done by the time the weather gets cold again. has anyone even seen a completed one online?

i'm just choosing yarn and swatching to find out the best way of tackling the incredibly complicated intarsia..

19  starry shirt dress! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ohmystars on: April 10, 2006 11:41:13 AM
here's a sweet dress i made this weekend!

the cute starry fabric was a bargain from fabric land and i used vogue pattern V8021. it was prety easy except i messed up the collar and lapels first time round and had to alter them. it's my first proper pattern-following darted dress (and first attempt at buttonholes) and it fits! so generally i'm very happy with it Cheesy

20  yarrr! jaunty hooded nautical tee in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ohmystars on: April 08, 2006 12:44:44 PM
hey up! i whipped this tee up using some sweet striped cotton jersey i found for cheaps, and some leftover black from another shirt. the fabric reminded me of sailors so i went for a nautical theme with some vintagey brass buttons. didn't use a pattern or anything, just traced a tee that fitted me well and used an existing hoodie to trace the hood.
