I got my package from KStaron yesterday!  She did a great job!!  I was packing up my box for her yesterday, and am now suffering from SWAP anxiety!  AHH!!

INCLUDED: a backgammon wizard game set in ravenclaw colors (with homemade pieces), a puffy wallet (in the theme of the monster book), filled with wizard coins AND account information for future withdrawals.  A scarf, a Marauders Map, Beetle the Bard Tin filled with a scene from the Deathly Hollows (very cute), Luna Lovegood bookmark, potions book with a list of potions, AND my wisted Wizard and Muggles sign!!  Very cool!

The bird is amazing!

3  It's Log, Log, Log, Log! It's better than bad, IT'S GOOD! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by LilFiney on: November 26, 2008 06:15:39 AM
I think this is in the right spot, since it carries something.

Anyways, I made this for my partner in the Tree Swap!  DizzyDragonfly is an avid knitter (and a very good one), so I wanted to make her a bag to carry her yarn!  Thus....

Side view with stitching detail!

How old is this yarn log?? hmm.. let me count the rings!!

5  Harry Potter - Chess Set in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by LilFiney on: November 16, 2008 09:42:09 PM
For a SWAP I was in, my partner and I did a HP Side SWAP.  My partner seems to be best great friends with her sister and they like to play games, so I tried to come up with something they could do together.  Thus, Harry Potter CHESS!!

Gryffindors vs. Slytherins!

The castles I tried to make look like towers, for the knights I put the characters on Broomstricks, the Bishops had wands, and the king/queen had crowns.  Voldemort is the king for the slytherins...thus Nagini

My kitty taking out a death eater...

I got the idea for these cute little guys from https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=217174.0  Artful's creations! She is really creative with her polymer work!

6  Re: GALLERY Hayao Miyazaki/ Studio Ghibli Swap MAIL BY (11/12/08) in The Swap Gallery by LilFiney on: November 16, 2008 09:18:51 PM
Trisha2010 got her package!!  She is currently camera-less (new one is coming) so she asked me to post pics.  I only took a "general" shot of the one package and wayyyy more of our side swap (which was Harry Potter).

Large:  Calcifer -  he is made like a stuffie, but not stuffing.  On his back he has a zipper and an eyelet.  he is a "yarn cozy" i guess.  put your ball of yarn inside and pull the end out of the eyelet.  That way the yarn doesn't roll all around room or kitties can take off with it mid project.

Medium:  she had a baby ohm on her WIST, so I figured out a pattern and tried to make one!!  He actually turned out pretty cute!  My husband agreed it was an ohm.  Grin

Small:  a Totorro scarf.  The Totorro is stitched on fleece.  They are SUPER warm in the winter, and this way she can have some Ghibli pride w/o it being too flashy.

Extra:  a notebook cover that I started.  It was to be Howl's moving castle, but my castle looked more like a pumpkin on legs (or a chicken bending over), anyways, I got Trisha's package, got some serious SWAP anxiety, and instead of finishing the notebook cover, I sent her the supplies I bought for it and went overboard on our side swap.

Harry Potter Side Swap:  (My current pride and joy)

Trisha2010 did a FANTASTIC job of her package!  It came early, so SWAP anxiety set in hard core this weekend.  Between that and life, I did not get the pictures up. (tsk tsk)

Anyways, here is the excellent packge!!  Sorry so many photos!  I need to work on "downsizing" the amount I take..  : Undecided

The Package when I opened - there was also lots of ghibli pictures on the sides!!

Almost everything unwrapped, except what I was wearing at the time.  Trisha wrapped everything up in baggies.  Very professional looking.  It was hard to open them, like ripping into collector items or something.

Modeling the "him and her" hats.  I do NOT look like a living being after a 10 hour shift and a test.. BLA!

The "Cat bus" Purse.  Have been carrying it around everywhere!

The action shot of the purse.

If you want to see anything specific, let me know.  I took closeups of everything but i have already put up wayyyy to many photos!!

Thanks Trisha!!  You did an AWESOME job!!

9  Butterflies and Flowers for Baby!! in Quilting: Completed Projects by LilFiney on: September 30, 2008 06:57:49 PM
My boss had a baby girl, two days after my birthday.  She had an original due date for my birthday... so I decided the little tyke needed a quilt.  Here is my first little person quilt!

As you can see in the pics, I am getting a little puckering after I wash... is it cause it's shrinking?? (I have not been pre-washing).. hmm....

10  Re: Hayao Miyazaki/ Studio Ghibli Swap (Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, etc) in New Swap Theme Ideas by LilFiney on: September 24, 2008 08:00:24 PM
OK crafters!! Medli has given her blessing! (thanks again for the quick response!)  I have an Analytical "anal" chem test on Friday.  Friday EVENING or Saturday Morning I will put up the SWAP!  Again, it will be about a 10-14 day Sign up period.  I kind of like the One Big, Three Little packages, like Medli.

Please let me know what you think! I am still open for ideas/suggestions!

As for partners, I will post them as soon as sign ups are complete.  There will be a brief, "away from computer" while my husband, puppy, and I venture to the U.P. in Michigan to enjoy the fall at my Mother in Law.  They live out in the middle of nowhere, in what I call the "hansel and gretel" forest, with BEARS, OH MY!!  so I will not be able to answer any questions for that time period.  I will let you know official dates when the time comes closer.  Smiley

I hope that is ok!!
