11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / fur hat??? on: September 25, 2008 03:53:21 AM
hello guys~
lately i've been obsessed with fur... like the vests and the hats and the stoles....
and then i saw this hat and i knew i had to make it

and here's another one like it

problem is i've never made a human-size hat, much less from fake fur (wouldn't use real fur..)
... would a cylindrical box type of thing as big as my head work? or does it need some segmenty things?
also how do you line fake fur? since the backing is rather scratchy .

any tips on this hats construction would be great!!!
12  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: what are you listening to whilst crafting? on: September 06, 2008 04:53:45 AM
I think it depends what I'm sewing - if it's vintage inspired, or punkish, or cute, the music'll change. Smiley

One thing goes: if I'm knitting or sewing gathers/ruffles/zippers/buttonholes, it's not a good idea to listen to upbeat music. I might try Latin podcasts for those kind of things one day.

Right now:
Goo Goo Dolls (I love them to bits), Nickelback, Santana, Seal (actually just the batman song), The Libertines, Maroon5, The Last Goodnight, Chris Brown, Flo Rida *huhu*, Rage Against the Machine, The John Butler Trio, The Scene East, that hey delilah song, and The Getaway Plan.

wheee  Cheesy

they are gorgeous, i love ALL OF THEM!!!
especially the ruffle dress, the ruffle top, the russian doll top and the orange blouse with the peter pan collar.
i would wear all of them all the time!

oh yes, what is the ruffle top and dress made of?

and for the yellow skirt i'd wear a plain top, so the attention is on the skirt, because it's so awesome.
