this is a really great idea...i have a super hot flat iron and it takes forever to cool down--i often fret over the idea of being a fire hazard.  i plan to make one of these for me and my mom. yay!

97  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Flower Garden cuff (3 imgs included) on: March 28, 2008 11:01:26 PM
Only question I have...how heavy is it?

thanks for all of the wonderful comments, everyone! yay!

as for how much it weighs...i would say it weighs less than the 1 inch metal bangles that are popular right now...maybe 2 or 3 ounces (not good at guesstimating).

as for length of time to do the project: i would say if one were to sit down and do it without interruption, probably 4 hrs?  the weave isn't so bad once you get going and the flowers and leaves are up to the maker!

thanks, again!

well, i've never posted anything on here before, so hopefully i manage to upload the photos correctly!

Here is a bracelet I made a little while back, it wasn't the colors that i had originally wanted to use, but they were the only beads that i had lying around:

i used a herring bone weave and then stitched the flowers and leaves on top.

thanks for looking...opinions welcomed Smiley

this dress looks great...the color is so beautiful and the understated pink taffeta is a great touch.  she looks beautiful in it with her hair and skin color!

that fabric is SO cool.  and i really like how the zipper came out.  i agree with someone else who said halter style straps placed far apart on the front...that way it still kind of looks like a tube top but adds some safety....
