Oh man, is this ever fantastic! When you opened the tin and I saw the cellar door I almost didn't want to scroll down to see if you went the extra step because every time I see that film that's the bit that freaks me out, lol. Gave my heart a little start! I love this.

It's the perfect size for cuddling! Love it.

Wow! Talk about inspirational. You've got me in the mood to go thrifting for something to repurpose for my own sewing station.

Those shelves look professional - I would have never guessed they were cardboard and posterboard.

Love, love, love it. This ROCKS!
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: I always wanted a pop up camper. Didn't you? on: February 10, 2014 10:33:59 AM
This is so cute! The interior is so nicely done. Very impressive!
5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Mario Legos on: December 23, 2013 03:06:28 PM
Oh man, that is so clever! Nicely done!
I'm gonna have to borrow that - my son will go bonkers for it.
6  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / More parrot ornaments on: December 10, 2013 11:09:52 AM
For the longest time I've been artsy, but hadn't found what worked best for me - I think I've finally gotten there, and I'm so pleased!
I think I'm really starting to find my groove now, and it's taking less time to produce a finished piece.

Anyway, here are my latest sculpts :]
They're all about 3"x3", and about 1/2" in thickness.
C&C welcome!

This parrot is a Blue Front Amazon with a couple of pretty Cattleya Dowiana Orchids.
The Blue Front is native to South America; more specifically in the region shared by Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina.
Blue Front Amazons are the most commonly kept companion birds of the Amazon species of parrots.

Here is a Congo African Grey. They are native to - you guessed it - the Congo Jungle region of West and Central Africa.
The flower is an Impala Lily, an African flower.
CAGs have an incredible ability to mimic speech, making them very entertaining companion birds.
(They're all pretty entertaining, really!)

This is a smaller sized parrot - a Green Cheek Conure with a pineapple mutation.
The flower here is a Mourning Lily. Sadly, the GCC this ornament was modeled after had passed away recently.
Green Cheeks typically have a mostly dark green color (hence their name) and a black beak, but the pineapple mutation gives them a yellow chest, bright red belly, and a horn colored beak.

And, finally, we have a Red Belly Parrot.  Very mysterious looking.
The flower alongside it is an Iris Munzii.
Red Bellies are native to the savannahs of Eastern Africa.
The males are distinguished by their orangey-red bellies, while the females have a green belly.

Alrighty, enough with the parrot lesson, lol.

Thanks for looking!
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Dream Catcher Swap, anyone? on: November 17, 2013 01:14:02 PM
Good idea, dfabbric - that certainly opens the swap up to more people and more creativity!

With the holidays coming up I'm thinking of opening the swap up the second week of January if that sounds good to most interested.
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Dream Catcher Swap, anyone? on: October 28, 2013 02:51:21 PM

I'm starting to get an itch to make a dream catcher, and I thought, hey, this could be a fun swap!
So, dear reader, are you interested? You must be a little bit, since you're reading this ;]

This swap won't be limited to traditional dream catchers though - any medium is welcome!

Anyone have any input on making it a point based swap?

The only thing is: I've never organized a swap before, so if anyone's willing to organize that would be absolutely wonderful!

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: One Tiny Holiday Ornament Gallery! on: October 25, 2013 10:22:58 AM
I received from Homerof2! A beautiful crocheted star ornament with one of my favorite color combos, blue, black, and silver. She hit the nail on the head with this, because I love stars, the colors, and crochet. It's perfect! It'll look great on the Christmas tree, but now that I think about it I might have to just keep it on my art wall so it can be appreciated year round.  Cheesy Thanks, partner!

ETA: In my excitement I forgot to add: I love all the ornaments being posted! It's so much fun to be a part of the creativity on this forum :] Thanks, spidermom and mink_bikini for organizing!
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: One Tiny Holiday Ornament Gallery! on: October 16, 2013 10:24:45 AM
Homerof2 - I'm so glad you like it :] It was super fun to make!

beeker - I used the end of a paint brush to dot little indentations all over the piece to create the packed snow texture. Looking at it in the picture reminds me a bit of a golf ball, lol.
