I can't organize this but thought one of our many bird-lovers and cussing aficianadas might be interested.  Profanity-laden bird swap inspired by Effin Birds by Aaron Reynolds.

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Moringa! on: September 09, 2019 10:16:23 AM
I'm having a ton of fun growing Moringa trees.  Moringa is a fast-growing subtropical tree that is considered one of the most nutritious plants on the planet.  I planted seeds of Moringa this Spring.  My first seedlings failed because it was still too cold, but the ones I planted later survived and are now over eight feet tall, blooming and setting pods.  Bumblebees love the flowers.

I've eaten the leaves in salads, mixed with other greens as cooked greens, and in a Moringa Chicken dish, recipe below:

Chicken Moringa!

4 boneless chicken thighs, cubed
1 large onion, chopped
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp turmeric
2 cups Moringa leaves

Saute chicken and onion until slightly browned, add tomato sauce, spices, and Moringa leaves.  Cover and simmer until chicken is tender.  Add water if necessary to desired thickness of sauce.  Serve over rice.

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Plenty o' Permaculture on: April 24, 2019 05:55:24 PM
Wow, I sure miss this place!

I haven't been crafting much lately, but I have been gardening up a storm. No completed garden projects, but lots of in-process gardening.

Low-water Garden growing Mountain Pima Cristalino de Chihuahua and Lofthouse Harmony Grain Maize Corn, Mayo Kama and Lofthouse Smallest Fruited Moschata Squash, and Tohono O'odham and Lofthouse Tepary Beans.

Kitchen Garden with a lot of stuff:

Fig I grew from a cutting from my dad's neighborhood. (Free fig tree!)

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Sniff! Snort! Snuffle! on: February 25, 2018 11:19:36 AM
Embroidery on linen, 6" in diameter.

This little snuffling pug dog was inspired by my old dad, who has gotten into a habit of constantly making sniffing and snorting noises.  I tried to break him of the habit by reminding him "Don't snort!" and "Do you need a tissue?" but not having any memory, he can't remember not to do it and doesn't really even notice this habit in himself.   I know it makes no more sense for me to get annoyed with him than it would for me to get upset at a little old pug dog for making snorting noises.
