191  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / How to preserve wedding favor M&M's on: September 24, 2005 06:33:04 PM
For my sister's wedding, they had M&M's in their wedding colors made with their names and wedding date on them. Does anyone know if there is a way to preserve them and keep the candy coating from smearing?
192  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Paperback Harry Potter Book on: September 18, 2005 08:27:10 AM
My sis loves Harry Potter and has every book in hardback, but I picked up a paperback copy of the first book at a yard sale and wanted to do something cool with it. Any suggestions?

193  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Strawberry Shortcake Skirt on: August 14, 2005 09:03:13 AM
I scored this cute straweberry shortcake t-shirt at Kohls for only $2 and just had to make a matching skirt. Just a simple a-line skirt with side zipper, nothing fancy. Please excuse the mess, I find that I'm much more creative in a messy environment, then a clean one.

194  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Spiderweb skirt & 2 matching tops...too early for halloween? on: August 14, 2005 08:55:45 AM
I'm attending a horror convention next weekend and I made a skirt and 2 tops to wear. I can't decide which top I like better though, the cami style top (it's a little big, I need to take in the sides) or the halter style top.

Halter Top w/ skirt

I posted the matching earrings & charm I made under jewelry

Opinions & comments welcome!

195  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ninja Turtle Power Sundress on: August 13, 2005 02:36:31 PM
I found a ninja turtle sheet at a thrift store brought it home, and before I decided what to make out of it, it was claimed by my sister, to be made into a sundress for her. Being the nice big sister that I am, agreed.  Grin I used a pattern that I had for a halter top as a guide for the top part and just winged the rest for the dress. Here's my sis modeling it.

196  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Troll Sheet to Sundress on: June 21, 2005 03:54:05 PM
I was inspired by the post here by k0nstantine9
to make this sundress, it's actually 2 pieces. The cami top and circle skirt bottom. It's my first circle skirt, had a little trouble getting the circle skirt to be even all the way around, but I don't think it's too noticeable.

197  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Just in time for Easter Duct Tape Peeps Purse on: March 26, 2005 06:33:14 PM
Love 'em or hate 'em, nothing says Easter like marshmellow peeps. I decided to make peeps purses that double as easter baskets.

198  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Ugly Trunk recovered in Audrey Hepburn Photos on: February 28, 2005 08:14:09 AM
I found this ugly black trunk / suitcase that was used for holding carpet samples and recovered it with a collage of photos of Audrey Hepburn.

I'm not sure what I'll use it for, it's too short to act as a table, maybe just store some of my supplies in it.
199  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Towel Cake for Lingerie Shower on: February 19, 2005 11:49:31 AM
My sister is getting married in a little over a month. She has a lot of the regular household items already and only allowed 2 months to plan the entire wedding. So, I'm throwing her a surprise lingerie shower. I made the following Towel Cake for the party attaching various chocolate scented soaps & lotions and used sexy high heeled shoes to fit along with the lingerie theme.

200  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re-animator Stenciled T-shirt on: November 08, 2004 12:42:34 PM
I can't remember where I found this stencil, but is was listed as being from the Shining. It's actually Dr. Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs) from the Re-Animator movies. My sister met him at the Horrorfind Weekend Convention and he was such a cool guy. Thought it would make a great Xmas gift for her.

Back - a quote from the movie "Who's going to believe a talking head? Go get a job at a sideshow."
