11  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ugly Faded Green Directors Chair Made New on: May 22, 2011 07:00:23 AM
I hit the Goodwill with my sis a few weeks ago and scored this collapsible directors chair. The paint was all chipped and the canvas was really faded. A little sanding, a few coats of paint and some new canvas and I now have a new chair.

12  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Reversible Beatles Bag on: April 09, 2011 08:06:23 PM
My SIL gave me some Beatles fabric for Christmas, but I've been waiting for the perfect project to use it. I stumbled onto a pattern from Very Purple Person http://verypurpleperson.com/2010/04/reversible-bag-pattern.html and knew this was it.

I modified the pattern to add an iron on patch, 2 zipper pockets and a button & loop closure.

13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Attaching a Peacock Feather to a Locket Front on: March 17, 2011 07:15:31 AM
My best friend recently lost her grandmother. Peacock feathers have always reminded her of her grandmom so I thought it would be nice to put a pic of her grandmom in a locket with a feather attached to the front.

Similar to this, but on a locket.

Can anyone recommend a good glue for attaching the feather to the front? I usually use e6000 for attaching cameos and things, but I'm not sure if this is the best idea for the feather.

Any suggestions for a cover on top of the feather to seal? Would something like Alleene's Paper Glaze work?

Any thoughts would be greatly apprecitated. I really want to make sure this turns out nice and not look like something that was just thrown together. I've never really worked with feathers before though.

14  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Jameson's Snow Day Dog Coat on: February 27, 2011 03:50:52 PM
I have a boston terrier and since boston's only have the one coat, he tends to shiver if we take him out in the cold. He had a fleece coat that my mil had bought him, but the red plaid and fuzzy collar left him looking like the Brawny man. So, I took that coat and used it as a pattern to make him a new coat. Let's hope this one gets less weird looks then the Brawny coat.
I'm starting with this pic because it makes me laugh. He was mid lick from a treat I gave him.

This next two pics show off the coat better

16  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / M initial Spoon Pendant on: November 27, 2010 08:54:21 AM
I've developed a thing for Spoon Jewelry lately. This is for my husband's Aunt Mary for Christmas.

Made from a spoon end, ribbon, jewelry clasp & jump ring.
17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Mickey Mouse Wreath on: November 27, 2010 07:49:23 AM
My sis is a huge fan of all things Disney. I made this for her for Xmas. Made with 3 wreaths, wire & some ribbon. I was thinking of placing the bow by one of the ears for a Minnie Mouse version, but she prefers Mickey.

I've been adding NBC ornaments to my collection little by little. This is this year's addition.
19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Fleur de lis Spoon Earrings on: November 27, 2010 07:02:27 AM
Made my Mother-in-law a spoon bracelet for her b-day and still had some spoons lying around, so I made some matching earrings for Christmas.

I'm thinking a pendant might be in order too.

20  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Ideas needed for in-laws 40th Anniversary on: October 11, 2010 07:51:15 AM
I'm in desperate need of suggestions for my in-laws 40th Anniversary. They are taking us (my husband, me, & brother & sis in law) on a Cruise with them for their 40th anniversary, since all of our anniversarys fall in October. I really want to do something special for them. Their anniversary is the day we arrive home from the cruise. Money is tight right now with hubby out of work, but I still want to do or make something for them, as a congratulations and to say think you for everything they do for us.

Anyone have any suggestions?
