41  Re: "It's outta sight!", sling bag **Tutorial on Pg. 3!!** in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by atmomma on: January 06, 2008 09:54:30 AM
I made this one last night for my 17 year old SIL. Awesome tutorial!!
I made it extra wide and cut 1 inch squares from the corners to square the bottom so it will hold more stuff.

42  Pillow case to Purses (a little pic heavy) *edit* to add another purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by atmomma on: January 05, 2008 11:38:20 PM
I found two pillow shams at a resale store and they screamed "Use me!!". My sister in law is 17 and CRAZY about polka dots so it just kinda fit. I found a tute for the Pleatness bag by applesaregreen (sorry, I haven't figured out how to insert a link yet and cant find the info anywhere) and I just had to try it. I added a pocket to the inside, gathered instead of pleated because apparently I cant do it (I tried for an hour), and left out the zipper. I like it so much I almost dont want to give it away! The second bag is also from a tute by nappyoleme for the "it's outta sight" sling bag. It too was super easy to do. Any advice or comments are welcome. Thanks for looking!

*EDIT* I have since made another Pleatness bag and instead of posting another thread, I thought I would just post it here. This one is made out of a pair os soft gray cordoury pants I bought for 25 cents at a resale shop and another pillow case also for 25 cents. I love recycling!!

43  Zebra Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by atmomma on: January 03, 2008 06:41:18 PM
I made this purse after seeing stargirl's tutorial from "cut out handle with fish". It was really easy to make although I did have troubles with the top of the bag. FOr some reason turning, pinning and sewing just didn't want to work so I made bias binding instead. This is not my first sewing project but it is my first posting.

I turned the purse inside out for this pic to show the pocket I added.                  Thanks for looking.  Smiley
