1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Craftsters, I'm Desperate... on: September 12, 2005 03:25:20 PM
Ok, I have a slight dilemma here; a casual friend is having a birthday this Friday, and I wanted to make him a mix cd because he's always saying how he has none. But the thing is... he doesn't like any of the music I have.
So I have a slightly odd proposition; could you please make me a mix? In return, I'll make you a super crafty suprise. You wouldn't have to decorate it or anything, just burn some songs onto a cd, and mail it (I'd pm you my home address).

If anyone is interested, his favorite band is JamisonParker, so music of that vein would be great; I think he also is into Hidden in Plain View, The Starting Line, Armor for Sleep, Mae.... just put on anything else you think he'd like.

I feel so bad about asking you guys to do this, but I'm really in a bind here. Thanks much!

Yikes, looks like I need to read the rules again. Maybe it could work without having to send anything to be redistributed, if each person sent the cards they made to everyone. It might be difficult though, that's alot of copying and mailing.

Oh no, why has this topic died?! It's a great idea. But if each person was given a suit, then only 4 people could participate... unless the end result was many decks of cards? Maybe instead of a suit, each person could have a number; fewer cards to do, but much more diversity in a deck. Just thought I'd throw the idea out there. That said, if someone wants to organize, I'm in.

Hey Lothruin, when using theater makeup, does it rub off on one's clothes? I'm going for an all over vampire look this Halloween, and I don't want white stains on my costume or my friends. ^_^

OK everyone, I'm back! Miss me? ^_^
Oh dear me, I love LA. To pieces. Were it a person, I'd marry it. The people I went with were being such dorks ("We're not driving into the city at midnight just to watch some stupid rocky horror!"... "The Museum of Tolerance? You're going to the Holocaust museum later this year!"... "No, we're not going into that tattoo parlor, I don't care how clean it is!"...) so I didn't get to see much beyond my car window, but I had a blast anyway. Even the traffic was cool. I kept poking my brother and being all, "Hey, do you realize we're in the famous LA gridlock? Yes!" ^_^
Venice Beach was amazing at night, and I won on the choice of hotel (the Georgian, with an old speakeasy downstairs !). Unfortunately, no sushi, even though there was a place right next door. Arugh. Seriously, who goes to Hollywood and eats at Wendy's???
I'd like to say more, but I just got off a 4 1/2 hour flight, and I need to sleep. But, with all of you as witnesses, I will live in Los Angeles someday. ^_^

Hey guys,
Who knew I could get on from school? Scandalous! Anyways, I leave tomorrow for my West coast adventure, and I just wanted to say thanks again for everyone's help!

Neglecting my own topic, shame!
Thanks for all the help guys... I'm going to be around Venice Beach and Santa Monica for a couple of days in early June. The people I'm going with want to do the whole Hollywood thing... personally I want to see the Museum of Tolerance (thanks for the info, Monstergirl!), and check out the Third Street Promenade. I'm so excited!
