151  Perfect present for young mom in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by RCKFELLA on: December 18, 2004 03:59:55 PM
my friend who's 18 is expecting. i made her this little baby tote. i decided not to use baby prints because that way, she can use the same tote later on when she doesn't need it for baby any more. i wasnt sure what she was having so i made it this "Martha Stewart" green with that gwen stefani print on the outside.  i was inspired by a couple of purses i saw at urban outfitters. what do u guys think?

cute huh!

OMG!!!!!!! your purse is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE!!!!!!!!! my new passion now is baby totes (diaper bags). so yeah, GOSH! it's sooooooooo cute!!!!!! well, my purse was liked so much that one girl is asking me to make her 2 similar ones and she's paying me $15 and providing the fabric so i'm like, cha-ching! and also, i made my best friend a pink throw pillow with white polka dots and i transfered on this picture of her and her boy friend and yeah, everyone LOVED that and three girls want one too but i think i'm gonna have to charge some money, probably llike, $10. so yeah, i'm so glad someone actually went out to try it! haha, thanks for the replies!

155  Chandeliere earrings with tutorial in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by RCKFELLA on: December 07, 2004 09:44:21 PM
here are the chandeliere earrings. i'm giving them to my friend as an x-mas present. i worked on them non stop and it took me about 2 1/2 hours.

okay, here goes the tutorial

32 and 26 gauge wire
flat and round nose pliers
wire cutter
earring hook
beads (60 for this project)

1) First, lets look at where all the beads will go

2) begin by taking a piece of wire and making a loop at the end with your round nose pliers. i usually make them about 1 1/2 cm long, depends on how thick your bead is. place bead and make a loop at other end going the opposite direction. this is with the 26 gauge wire. like so:

do this for 46 of the beads. remember you have to reserve 7 x 2 beads that go on the horizontal wire.
3) after you do this for all 46 start linking them. you need 4 links of each: 2, 3, and 4 beads. you only need 2 links that are five beads long.
4) take the 32 gauge wire and make a loop at the end. put in a bead then a 2 bead link, then another bead and a 3 bead link and so on. when you put the 5 bead link go back to 4, 3, and finally 2. do not put a bead after the last link. there should only be seven beads across the top. now close off the wire with another loop, like so

5) now take some of the 26 gauge wire and make a total of 16 loops in the shape of an eight. then link 4 together so you will have four links with 4 loops in them like so

6) take the links and hook one on each loop from the 32 gauge wire and then link them on the loop in the earring hook

if i'm correct, this is it. i'm sorry if my tutorial is confusing! Huh
i'd love any feedback!

156  Re: stripped purse with tutorial **with handles** in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by RCKFELLA on: September 21, 2004 10:19:33 PM
the third fabric, i'm not sure, but i think it's chiffon. it's like, kind of silky but not really cuz it's really sturdy. it's persian and it's expensive. my neighbors mother left it to her in her will and she didn't know waht to do with it so she gave it to me and it's a good 10-12 yards. it's really expensive at stores but since i have a lot i'm using it left and right, haha! here's the purse with the handles. i got some of that cord used for seat belts and stuff and just sewed some of the fabric around it. and i did that "tie flower" with this pink tie i had. i have to say it's really cute but i wish i had made it bigger!

hope u guys liked it!
