1  Meatless Meatballs in Vegetarian / Vegan by RCKFELLA on: May 03, 2012 02:30:49 AM
I know this is probably old news to everyone but me. BUT maybe there's a poor lost soul out there living in the dark like I was. i have been a pescetarian for almost 8 years and this is the first time i have heard of making your own meatless meatballs! I had them today and ran home to google a recipe. I found one that sounded similar like the original recipe that the woman said to me and they turned out great. stupid simple and so delicious!!!

Here's the recipe the way I did it for anyone that's interested

2 slices of wheat toast
1/2 cup walnuts
1/3 cup parmaesan
2/3 cup mozzarella
2 eggs
1.5 cups vegetable broth or water
salt, pepper, garlic powder
dried herbs to taste, I used rosemary, parsley, and basil

Put walnuts and toast in the processor until the are finely ground
Whisk eggs and cheese, add nut/bread mixture and seasonings.
Let firm up in refrigerator for 20-30 minutes
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Spray pam on 8x8 oven safe dish
Make small 1-1.5 inch balls (i used a small ice cream scoop)
Place evenly spaced in dish and bake for 30 minutes.
Add broth and bake 30-35 min at 350 degrees and you're done!!!

Enjoy however you want them Smiley They are awesome plain or with sauce.

2  use ALL the memes! pillow xmas gift in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by RCKFELLA on: December 28, 2011 01:02:50 AM
I have not posted on here in so long!!! I also realized I have been on craftster since I was a puny 15 year old and now i'm almost 23  Grin

so off topic but I thought that was really neat hehe. Anyway this is a pillow I made one of my best friends for christmas except I haven't given it to her yet. We're both obsessed with the website 9gag where they post these meme faces all the time but they've pretty much taken over the internet. It's just a 16x16 pillow. I was going to make it 12" and do 9 faces but when I started googling them I realized there are tons! it was so hard to pick! I did 3x3" squares and 1ish inch borders. the back is just grey.

I cut a bunch of 3.5" white squares and ironed on the faces

and the grand reveal... which looks just the same Wink

oh here are some of the runner ups I didn't use, but like i said there are tons more

3  glittery heather headband in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by RCKFELLA on: July 15, 2011 09:55:12 PM
as rupaul says: hey squirrel friends! This headband was inspired by a group of drag queens on Rupaul's drag race. They called themselves Heather's [referencing the movie Heathers] and they were my favorite queens on the show. One of them is going to be in my city tomorrow for the pride parade and i'm going just to see her haha.

I made this head band in a pinch so i'd have something glittery and dragalicious to wear. I used glitter foam from the dollar tree and some cookie cutters. thankfully most of the letters have rotational or folding symmetry so i could stamp the wrong side of the foam, cut them out, and just flip them over. the only one i had to do on the glittery side was the R but it worked out fine. I glued them on to a piece of grosgrain ribbon and glued that to a plain black headband so i could take the letters off later.

thanks for looking Smiley

4  4th of July Cake in Dessert by RCKFELLA on: July 05, 2011 12:22:16 AM
Hey guys just wanted to share this cake for today.

It's boxed white cake with swiss meringue buttercream.

so i made three layers of blue cake. each layer was like a donut, 9" in diameter and had a 6" circle cut in the middle. i leveled it so they would be 3/4" high. then i made two red layers, again 9x3/4" and two smaller 6x3/4" circle.

then i just stacked them. the goal was to to have 4 red stripes and 3 frosting stripes but i somehow ended up having to add another frosting layer. i got the idea from similar cakes but instead of frosting, they added a white cake layer. that was too much cake for me that's why i used frosting instead of cake for the white Smiley

thanks again for the compliments!

the flavor was alright. I thought i would be clever and bake the cakes in a water bath to make them rise evenly and be more "moist". well, after 2 hours in the oven they were still jiggily. after about2.5 hrs i took them out. when i stuck a toothpick in, it came out dry, but the texture of the cake was super wet and it tasted not so pleasant. I made it on Friday and somehow by today it was not so bad. anyway thought i'd share my water bath woes to spare some unfortunate soul haha.

thanks for looking.

5  Father's Day Cake in Dessert by RCKFELLA on: June 19, 2011 12:39:16 PM
Hey everyone. I wanted to quickly share the cake I made for my dad.
I just want to preface by saying he's not an alcoholic haha. He just loves Heineken, it's his favorite beer. He is a simple guy so there aren't a ton of themes I can go with. I already made him a pink floyd cake for his bday last year so I thought this was perfect for father's day Smiley It is a lemon cake with berry cream cheese frosting. I'll upload another picture once we cut into it. Thanks for looking!

6  Salted Chocolate Nutella & Fluff Oreos in Dessert by RCKFELLA on: June 10, 2011 03:13:11 AM
I came up with this fat idea and I could not get it out of my head. I was like how good would an Oreo be with Nutella and marshmallow fluff dipped in chocolate. Don't ask how I come up with such things because I don't even know!

I have the sweetest tooth out of anyone I know. Seriously, it's sickening, I could probably just eat straight tablespoons of sugar. With that being said, honestly one of these babies is enough. They call for a one cookie to one gallon of milk ratio. Even with the salt they are super sweet, so a little bit goes a long way.

Salted Chocolate Nutella & Fluff Oreos (that's a mouthful, no pun intended!)

    Marshmallow Creme/Fluff
    Semi sweet chocolate chips
    fleur de sel (optional)

-Split Oreos and scrape out the filling
-Using a piping bag and a round tip (I just used a Wilton coupler with no tip) pipe about a tablespoon of marshmallow creme onto one cookie
-Use a spatula to spread the other half with Nutella
-Sandwich cookies and freeze them for at least 10 minutes, you can freeze them solid if you'd like
-Melt chocolate chips and dip frozen cookies, sprinkle with fleur de sel while chocolate is still wet
-Freeze again until chocolate sets, ENJOY!

you can check out my blog for more pics and blabber Smiley

8  ideas on what materials to use to make earring/necklace with hair? in Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions by RCKFELLA on: May 14, 2011 10:36:26 PM
When I first thought of this the idea sounded really good but now that I'm about to explain it, it may seem kind of creepy. Sorry if this puts you off!

My samoyed Polo went to doggie heaven on Thursday. Before we buried him, I cut a lock of his hair to keep with me. I've been thinking about somehow turning it into an earring or a necklace. The only problem is I have no clue how to do it. My idea was to dip the end in glue and wrap silver wire around it to make a loop so i can attach and earring hook or a chain.

Here is a picture to show you how much I have to work with and a bobby pin for comparison.

I don't know if I'm making much sense but I'm hoping some of you lovely jewelry experts can help me out.
Thanks Smiley

10  blood, sweat, tears, and a lot of E6000! in Completed Projects by RCKFELLA on: March 22, 2011 12:52:40 AM
okay i didn't really sweat, bleed, or cry but I almost passed out from the E6000 fumes! They're not kidding when they say to do this in a well ventilated area  Tongue

I present to you guys my cell phone case that I am absolutely obsessed with!!! Watching rupaul's drag race has brought out the gaudy queen in me, if i could i would glitterfy and bejewel everything I own, but for now my case will do.

I ordered a clear case for my evo off ebay then I painted the inside part with these two glitters. I did like 3 coats and then i did one coat of the purple. Let me know if you guys are interested in the names. I did these because I wanted a "background" for the jewels and the cheap cases on ebay were either black or clear so I went with the clear.

the glitter looks very subtle in this picture but trust me it's not!

if anyone tries this, please wait at least 48 hours to put the case back on otherwise this will happen! I think it looks kinda cool but some people are weird about that stuff.

then I just used E6000 to glue all these jewels and figurines on it. I ordered them from this website: http://fullmoon07xxx.ocnk.net/
the girl that runs it has THE CUTEST things and updates all the time. I think with shipping it was $13. It is based in Japan so I don't know if she is still running it or what's going on  Undecided I emailed her yesterday to see if everything is alright so hopefully she answers soon.

thanks for looking!
