13  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: 100% Virtual Photo Editing Swap on: June 21, 2009 03:36:56 AM
I would love to do this! Such a neat idea, only problem is I'm in the middle of moving  Undecided  I would organize, but can't at the moment. If anyone doesn't want to organize with in the next month and a half, then I'll gladly do it  Grin

--Anybody have an idea on how long the swap would be?

Thank you McJulie-O, that probably would have worked out better! I have no idea how to sew on zippers, haha  Tongue but I think the next piece of clothing I make, I will have to try!  Grin

Thanks MareMare! I'll have to try it on again without the belt  Wink

And thank you raspberry-tea! Now that I look at it, it does seem to be a bit too gathered at the bottom....and yeah! I never thought about wearing it around my hips, that would probably look great!

Hi guys!

So like the title says, this is the first piece of clothing I've sewn all by myself! I used a pattern from like 1980 or something?? It's a pretty worn pattern, but if anyone actually wants the pattern brand or # I'm sure I can track it down. I did modify it quite a bit, just to suit my taste, but for the most part it's like the pattern.

Anyways I'm not completely satisfied with it. I really liked it before I hemmed it... it was just above my knees before hemming. Ok so as soon as I hemmed it, it like POOFED out soooooo much! I can't decide if it is a good thing or bad thing?? Any advice? I think it was because a) I did a really quick 5 min. job doing the hem b) it's quite hard hemming a circle c) I hemmed it A LOT.

I had to buy the belt today just so the yoke part, didn't stretch so much because it is a little bit big around that area. I think it looks much better with the belt? Mum says I look like I'm from the 80's  Tongue which I guess is reasonable since the pattern is from the 80's haha. The worst part about this project was pleating underneath the yoke if that makes sense? Let's just say pleating denim, is not fun at all. I'm an expertise at unpicking! Anyways overall I'm pretty happy with it!  Cheesy

Thanks for looking! Comments/Criticism?  Grin
