2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / tulip dress on: July 11, 2009 06:29:10 AM
this is the bodice of butterick 5324 : http://www.butterick.com/item/B5324.htm
i got it at joanns...$1.99 pattern sale thurs-sat this and next week!

i got a bunch of fabric sample books...thank you craigslist! and got inspired.

i used a larger piece of vintage upholstery fabric sample for the top but i've used it all up on the bodice so i need some feedback for the skirt. simple black? coral?

the front is decorative, (supposed to be) attached to a bodice of lining+facing. instead i used upholstery samples for the bodice which gave it a good weight instead of sewing interfacing to lining.
5 episodes of greys anatomy later i got this lovely bodice with patchwork lining

let me know what you think
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / grecian jersey dress with PICS! on: July 09, 2009 06:16:43 AM
a knit dress based of the burdastyle top kyla. i used a lightweight burgundy jersey and doubled in in the bust area. I cut the skirt twice the length because i couldnt decide on floor length single weight or doubling the thickness and making it short.

comments appreciated!
short, sorry so far away!
strap down
diagonal strap
detail, gathered skirt needs some help....

i hope you like it! its quite easy to make, i just judged it from photos i saw (i didnt wanna buy the pattern) but i could put together a tut if someone would like

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / gathered leopard print skirt with waistband on: July 08, 2009 12:53:31 PM
this skirt took me longer than i want to admit to gather! pretty simple, a long tube of fabric sewn in a tube, and then sewn to an elastic waistband.

6  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / help with james pearse cardigan! on: November 15, 2008 09:15:05 AM

so this is my first post, and i was wondering if anyone could help me attempt this cardigan.
i've got some sewing experience so i figure its just two sleeves sewn to a large rectangle, but if anyone has sewn one before and has any tips, (or patterns) i'd love to not have to sketch a pattern myself
