I'm excited for this swap! Even if it is rather small...
But more people need to join!
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Round 12 Gallery on: March 01, 2010 07:00:14 PM
I received late last week, but by no fault of my partner! Things were out of her control and everything she sent made up for the delay! Ariethine, you are amazing!

To start off, the TWO MYBs she sent! The black and white on the smaller one is actually a bag wrapped around a silver yarn that is unbelievably soft!

Inside the ball was an awesome gray slouchy beret/tam with beautiful stitching around the edge. And excuse my lack of makeup hehe! It was a lazy sunday!

A cute little rag-doll/mummy guy! I love that him!

Two necklaces and two bracelets(one of each is blue while the other is green(my favorite!)), matching keychains for my boyfriend and I, and two of my own keychains. I really like the one with the net around the marble!

Three crocheted pouches of varying size.

Two wrist cuffs. Which fit perfectly!

Two flower brooches. These are amazingly made. So intricate looking (I have no idea if it really is or not Tongue )

An origami box accompanied by two paper cranes. I'm digging the print on them!

A few bookmarks, a pencil, and a crochet hook(hopefully this will further fuel me to try my hand at crochet!)

A bag of buttons and some gum.

And finally a picture drawn by Ariethine herself!

I love, love, love everything! I'm so grateful to have had such an awesome partner!

This is just... wow!
This Rocks!

I really love that you made it look sort of grungy and beat-up. There is much more character that way rather than it being polished and "perfect".
Great job! You are amazing!
4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: painting with dirt! on: February 26, 2010 03:54:49 PM
This is really amazing! I've never tried painting with natural pigments, but these look amazing and so easy to use!

I'm insanely jealous.

Holy haberdashery, Batman! This is sweet! A Robin shirt would be awesome too!

This was such a fun swap! I'm already working on another MYB for another swap...

I'm thinking of another MYB Swap that I could organize with a theme. I liked the idea of handspun yarn, but it wasn't well received... So I was thinking maybe a MYB Theme where every ball that's made has to conform to a theme. For example, if my partner has a thing for rainbows.. everything I put into the ball, along with the yarn and pattern, would tie into rainbows somehow. Rainbow socks, rainbow colored toys, rainbow pin cushion, rainbow bright doll, etc etc. The theme that each ball would have would depend completely on who it was made for.

Whacha think?

I agree with pinkleo! I love themes, but as she said, there will always be one of those crazies who doesn't want to do it Tongue
The rainbow theme is really cute! There could even be like medieval theme or a futuristic theme, etc. etc.
I think it sounds awesome!

9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Round 12 (SIGNUP 12/1/09-12/31/09 ; MAIL BY 2/1/10). on: December 07, 2009 04:30:23 PM
I'm so excited for this swap! My first one and it's at a perfect time: after finals, my birthday, one year anniversary, and Christmas. I might be a little "crafted"-out, but I'm sure I'll still have a blast with this!

These look great! And the slightly different sizes of squares really does add character Smiley
I might have to steal this idea and clean up my room a bit!
