*sigh* I am just no good at designing my own pattern for this.  Huh
Here are the images I was hoping to use.....

Any help out there?  It would be greatly appreicated..... (PS-I am not above bribery, I would gladly trade a swap like gift for a bit of help  Smiley).

Wow, you picked complicated pictures.  I actually think that they're too washed out, maybe?  You might need a little more detail and bigger pixels.  I experimented with the first one, and posted what I got in my photo album.  It's definitely not perfect - the hair was REALLY difficult and I gave up.  There's lots of grey left; if you use the pattern, just decide if you want the grey to be white or black.  You'll see what I mean:

I'm having similar problems Twilight. I can't get my image to do what I want it to. I tried using an online knitters graph maker  http://www.microrevolt.org/knitPro/index.php but it's not working right for my image.

If some saint wants to help me out, I'll be forever grateful. Here's my image:

Hi Abinka, I fooled around with your Twiggy picture in photoshop and got something that MIGHT work for you... it doesn't look as beautiful as your original pic, but I that is probably inevitable since it has to become so pixellated for a smaller version.  I am going to try posting it as a JPEG in my Tripod album.

If you can't access it, but think you would like to try using it, you can e-mail me and I'll send a different file type.   jane_withredshoes@yahoo.com

HELP!!! Embarrassed   I've been trying to format a picture of Debbie Harry to make a "Poster Girl" bag, but I've never done this before so I'm afraid I'm gonna screw it up!  I followed the Photoshop directions from the book and ended up with a HUGE picture.... (it looks very cool, actually, but I'm not sure if it's what I really need).  Then I went to the KnitPro page, and that also looked pretty good, but I'm scared about the "hit in the head with an anvil" effect that was mentioned on this thread....  how do I know if it will work?

Here's a link to the pic, it's the 9th picture.

It's an itty bitty pic, but when it's blown up it looks about right.  I just don't know how to get the right graph paper, etc...

I'm also nervous because I've never tried Fair Isle before.  I know how to knit, purl, increase, decrease, etc., but have never used more than one color at a time!  Am I making a huge mistake?!  I need advice!!!

Myself, I'm more concerned with stealing artwork and photography.  Those are people who take their livlihoods very seriously and often protect it fiercely.  I don't blame them, I wouldn't want a picture I took being sold as part of someone else's art.

There's also a part of copyright law where if they choose not to enfore their copyright they lose it.  One more thing to consider.

Okay, I have one more quick copyright question and then I'll stop steering the subject away from glass marbles!   Roll Eyes   What about our avatars?  I've seen a lot that are photos of famous people... including, oh, I don't know, Frida Kahlo!  I'm sure that we did not all take our own pictures for the avatars!  Is that illegal also?
